It started several months ago. We started receiving calls from Heartland Inc in regards to our magazine subscriptions (we had and still have subscriptions through another company). Heartland called, claiming to be able to "lower our payments," and that they were working with our real magazine company. This is blatently false. We called our real magazine company, and not only is Heartland not working with them, they had never even HEARD of Heartland! Heartland was doing nothing but fishing for our financial information, as I've gathered they do to everyone else. Do Not give them any information without calling to confirm their story. We've tried several times to get them to stop calling (ranging from politely asking to out and out cursing), we still hear from them every couple of months. And to top it off, when we told them flat out that we knew Heartland wasn't associated with anyone we did business with, they denied that they had said that, and out and out laughed at us. For your own sake, please confirm with the real company prior to even answering any calls from heartland (or do what we do, just don't answer the call).
