Heritage Marketing Buford GA Oliver Friend Magazines for deployed servicemen SCAM Buford, Georgia
A young man (early 20's) came to our door telling us that he was raising money to study journalism in England with the BBC. His father agreed to pay for part of his trip if he earned the rest. Since his father was a retired serviceman he suggested this program that sends magazines to VA hospitals and APO addresses abroad. We fell hook, line and sinker! My husband gave the kid a check. On the receipt is a phone number and an e-mail along with the company name and address. The paperwork looks very legitimate. After the kid left, we googled the company and discovered many scam reports. We called our local police and filed a fraud report.
