Recently, a stay at the Holiday Inn Select on Kearny in San Francisco.... pretty much ruined my life. And still is.

I prepaid a stay there and on the last day was asked to go to the front desk. Got there and was told that my "bill" was due, even tho I had prepaid my stay. They wouldn't let me go to my room to get the reciepts to prove it OR my wallet and checkbook to pay it. Catch-22. How could I pay a valid charge if they kept me from my own money? Yet, that is what they did and are doing. In fact they have ALL my property... and won't even aknowledge the reciepts that I mailed to them.

The bill they handed me was $1100. more than the original charges and they wouldn't let me have my property until it was "paid". It's been almost 20 days now and they will not relent. My car was towed and my employer ended my contract. I spent days on the street before I could contact anyone to help (they had my cellphone & ID and phonebook, too).

This is not the first time that this has happened either. I've had my girlfriend and her daughter escorted from the H.I. Civic Center for "non-payment" when the bill was paid in full. Cash.

Stay away, travelers. You'll end up stranded, hungry and hopeless. And they won't care a bit.
