My name is Ryan G. i use to work for home depot as a designer and project manager for the expo design center. as you you go shopping at these huge home centers and ever wonder why they never have help or people who work there dont know what they are doing, well its very simple....

you see when home depot first started in 1979 in Atlanta,Ga. started by bernie marcus and arthur blank, they were incredible with hiring and training there associates and teaching them how to take care of every customer all the time, how to build relationships with them, get them to trust home depot during there purchases and being confident of what they are selling and having the knowledge of that product without even telling the customer,"hold on, let me get the book and see what it says about that product".

bernie marcus and arthur blank where and still is very smart people, they wanted the customer to see how knowledgable and organize and confident about what there employees where talking about while dealing with a customer, and the repeated business was outstanding, how do i know this? simple, bernie marcus told me the whole story in person at our grand opening store in darien,il in 1994. i was the store designer at that time and i learned alot from him alone.

in 1984 home depot went public with the stock options to the customers and to the employees. i started with home depot in 1990 when i bought stock at $15.90 a share. today, its very bad, due to this story im about to tell you why home depot is home depot what it is today!!!

you see, when you first get hired by home depot, they wanted at least 5-10 yrs experience of what you are being hired for or applying for. then after the hiring process, you go to a home depot university for about 2 months then get sent back to the store that hire you, then even after that, you were entitled and forced to due department test every day and or week if you were not busy, and trust me, they check to see if you were not busy, not like today when you can walk around and see associates just standing in some of the isles and just b.s'ing while customers are standing around wondering were everyone is. you had to take these test until you basically get your master patch.

in the past, if you had done a great job, or had a letter from a customer that you help them out and took care of there needs, you would get a home depot customer service patch which if you were to collect 5 of them, you could hand them over for $100. which means they were worth $20 each. you also got monthly bonuses when your department and store did great sales and met there plan.

TODAY...they get rid of people like me who worked for them for 16 years total, cause of the pay they were paying me,,,$23.00 an hour. for 16 years i put in. but why do they get rid of employees that been there for awhile, cause of the new management they are hiring that dont have a clue of what customer service is all about. they hire these 23-27 yr old punks that think they know everything about running a corperate company and just destroy the home depot theory.

so what do they do, they start off telling the a**hole president Robert Nardelli (who destroyed G.E) that home depot has to start cutting back on there payroll to keep up to there non profits and non sales. by cutting out most of the older employees that are getting paid $13 per hour or more, stop there overall training programs, egtting rid of some executives that are cutting into home depots pockets, then hiring kids right from the streets that dont know a d**n thing about anything.

GO INTO ANY HOME DEPOT NOW, AND ASK A HARDWARE GUY IF HE KNOWS WHAT A DIE PICK IS, HE WILL SIT THERE AND SCRATCH HIS HEAD AND THEN GO ASK SOMEONE ELSE AND OR MAKE UP A STORY AND SAY "OH YA, WE DONT HAVE THEM ANYMORE" AND LIE HIS A** OFF TO YOU AND WALK AWAY. GO TO KITCHENS AND ASK A DESIGNER ABOUT HOW DOES A PLYWOOD CONSTRUCTION CABINET DIFFER FROM A NON PLYWOOD CABINET AND WHATS THE BEST FOR THE CONSUMER PRICE WISE....HE OR SHE WONT HAVE A CLUE WHAT TO SAY,,THEY WILL WALK YOU TO THE BOOKS, AND THEY WILL READ WHAT THEY SEE INSIDE THE KRAFTMAID BOOK, THE THOMASVILLE BOOK, OR AMERICAN WOODMARK BOOK AND THEN LIE THERE a*s OFF AGAIN. BUT THIS IS WHAT HOME DEPOT WANTS FOR THERE CUSTOMERS, CAUSE AGAIN, THEY DONT GIVE A d**n ABOUT YOU...

AS LONG AS YOU SPEND $25,000.00 ON THERE CABINETS, AND THEN COME TO FIND OUT, THAT THE DESIGNER NEVER EXPLAINED TO YOU WHAT CHERRY CABINETS DO WHEN SUNLITE HITS THE DOORS AND DARKENS IN TIME, AND AT A FAST TIME AS WELL. AND OR WHY YOU DONT HAVE SCRIBE MOLDING TO COVER THE END OF THE CABINETS AFTER BEING INSTALLED AND YOU NOTICE A HUGE GAP ON THE CAIBINET AND WALL. OR WHEN YOU DONT GET WHAT MOLDING YOU ASK FOR AND THEY SEND YOU WHAT EVER THEY WANT.

PEOPLE.....LOWES AT LEAST HIRES PEOPLE AND TRAINS THEM CORRECTLY. BUT BEWARE,,NOT ALL LOWES ARE THE SAME...I FEEL SO SORRY FOR BERNIE MARCUS WHO IS PROBIBLY SITTING DOWN HAVING SOME COFFEE AND READING THE NEWSPAPER OF HOW BAD THE STOCK IS AND NOTICING WHEN EVER HE WALKS INTO A HOME DEPOT THAT HE GETS THE WORSE SERVICE EVER, OR EVEN AT ALL....WHICH TIL THIS DAY, HE DOES GO INTO SOME HOME DEPOTS AND SHOPS AROUND. ARTHUR BLANK, WELL HE IS NOW THE OWNER OF THE ATLANTA FALCONS FOOTBALL TEAM, AND HE HAS PROBLEMS OF HIS OWN DEALING WITH AN A**HOLE WHO LIKES TO USE DOGS TO MAKE MONEY....P***K!!! NOT ARTHUR, THAT OTHER A**HOLE WHO WAS MY FAVORITE QUARTERBACK OF ALL TIME.
