My story was mirrored by others in regards to HomEq. In addition to being harrased, My harassment came just a few days after I had found my father dead in his house. I was told, oh well, by HomEq collections people AND supervisors. This inscensed me to say the least BUT I got it taken care of and heres how. First of all, send a REGISTERED return reciept letter to the company at the same time, you mail in your payment. In it, state you are unwilling to accept telephonic inquiries into your payment, and to NEVER call you again. You will only respond, BY mail to any further questions. Furthermore, Pay your bill on time, within the 15 day "grace period" It is IN your contract and there is nothing they can do, except sell your loan. YOu have a rigth NOT to be harrased BY telephone from anyone. This advice also goes for Bill collectors or anyone else that wants to misuse the telephone for misleading the public. I believe the fine for a SECOND call after being notified is ten thousand dollars, so I doubt you will hear from them again.
