Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
I ordered food a few nights ago from a Chinese place, Hong Kong Kitchen, for the first time. I placed a large order and asked for delivery. I explained to the woman on the phone that there are a few streets in the area with the same name is mine and I tried to give her directions. She quickly cut me off saying, "It's fine we know where it is." I tried again to give her directions but she quickly cut me off and hung up.

I waited about an hour and a half, and called the restaurant back when we still had not received the food. They told me it was on the way. About a half hour later the delivery driver called me and said he was lost. I gave him directions and he arrived about 20 minutes later. (we ended up waiting about 2 1/2 hours).

Now, I was pretty mad at this point, but I still took the food, and paid, and TIPPED the man. I brought the food inside and when we looked through the bags. I then realized that half of my order was missing.(and I was charged for it) I called the business and explained the problem to a woman. I asked her to please either bring the rest of the order or return the money that was owed to me. She told me that they were too busy and they could not do anything about it. I told her that they needed to do something because they made the mistake and they needed to fix it. She finally (after a long time or arguing) told me they would bring me the money that they owed me, but it would take them at least 4 hours!! So I told her never mind, (I was not waiting 4 hours,it was 8:00 already) I would drive to the business to retrieve my money.

By that time, the delivery driver, who is also the manager, had returned to the store and he got on the phone. The manager started screaming and cursing at me and told me that he would not give me back my money. I explained to him that he had charged me for items that I had not received and that I was entitled to that refund of the bill. He continued screaming and told me that I was playing a trick on him and had given him the wrong directions on purpose. So since he had spent the whole night looking for my house, he was now going to keep my money. I calmly told him that I had tried to give the woman directions twice when I first called, but she had refused them. He screamed & cursed at me some more & finally said I would have to sue him.

I called the police who told me to file a report with the better business bureau. I did this, but I don't know if they can do anything. I don't understand why it is illegal for people to run up and rob someone, but when a business does it, no one seems to be able to do anything. I just hope that other people in the area will read this and choose not to support this business. Hopefully, they will then lose the amount of money that they stole from me.

We have ordered several times from Hong Kong. The service has been nothing but polite, quick, efficent and accurate. They package everything very well, no messy spills like most Chinese takeout places in the area. The food is hot, fresh, very good. There is nothing we have ordered that has not been perfect.

My wife and I live in the Williamstown area and I too have heard some complaints about the quality (lack of) of the food and service at this restaurant. I personally have never tried this place, but after reading your report I can assure you that I won't ever take the chance. It's a shame that what some business owners are able to get away with these days. I do hope you get your money back, but if not maybe you'll get some peace in knowing that they will lose business over it. A happy customer may have told one person about this place, but an angry person will tell many. Maybe they will think about that next time.
