I may be 89 years old but I know when I am being ripped off.

Last year my daughter (Barbara) sent HHB a check for $24.00, HHB claimed they did not received it. Here is the first letter my daughter wrote. My daughter is my care giver and I give her permission to write this and all correspondence.

I am complaining against HHB Gold Master Card. They claim that June of 2005 payment was not made. This was check #753. The check was sent to Household Bank.

HHB said "Well, Bank of America did not send us the money because there were insufficient funds." No there isn't. HHB wanted a statement from Bank of America that there was not insufficient funds. (I have that letter) I talked to HHB again. The supervisor (Sorcino) said they will send a copy of the check to us because the account# was written wrong on their check, but then there will be a late fee and over limit fee because you will be another payment due.

I would like to file a complaint because they were sitting on the check. I keep duplicate checks and the duplicate check did not have the wrong account# on it. I settled with taking off late fees, insufficient funds fee, return check fee.

I paid them on time ever since and more than what was due per month. This year it started all over again.

My daughter wanted to pay by computer because she forgot to send them a check so it wouldn't be late so she decided to pay by e-mail.

This was due 6/9/06 payment due $46.96 by 6/7/06. When I tried to send the payment by computer it said to call and make payment by phone so that the payment wouldn't be late.

So I called and talked to Pavi, he said if I made a$82.00 payment then there wouldn't be any late payment fees or over limit fee because that would bring the balance right down to what then limit was $1500.00.

The conformation number is 9210608. When I received the next statement. It said the payment due was $109.51 and the payment was 109.51. This would leave me the balance of $1567.51. Why? Because of all the fees.

Once again they claimed that the 82.00 was cancelled. I did not cancelled that payment. If it were cancelled then they cancelled it just like they sat on the check in 2005.

The fees were returned payment fee of $82.00, over limit charge of $35.00, returned payment fee of $35.00. Plus every month they raised the Daily periodic rate, nominal average percentage rate. They are getting by with this by saying all of this is purchase.

My daughter complained at the Florida Department of Financial Services and also at The Comptroller of The Currency in Houston, Texas.

HHB is trying to resolve this problem but I feel that it is no good to resolve this because it will start all over again.

Now they have sent it to an attorney to try to settle, I don't think so.

The HHB keeps harrassing us, leaves no message, won't answer the phone, when I answer the phone they hang up. Can't call back because there is no answer or leave a message even tho their mail box is full or its from NCO associated with HHB.

The attorney they hired is Rubin & Debski, P.A. Jacksonville, Fl

phone 800-733-0717 or 904-425-0901 or facsimile 904-425-0906.

When I talked to other people about HHB they would tell be how they were ripped of by them. It is time that they were stopped.
