I can't think of any credit card company who doesn't charge the 3% balance transfer fee. Has nothing to do with interest. They all usually state this fee in their terms and conditions.

I usually would have agreed with you about hidden fees. But if you're intentions were to transfer money from the creditcard to cash, you should have asked the Bank before you made the transaction. I recently got a HSBC MasterCard for the same reason, and I mention the purpuse of getting a creditcard to the customer service rep. and he did tell me about the 3% fee. And since I was going to travel overseas, he also told me all I needed to know of how it works. Be smart and ask all you want. Since we all know this type of info will never be on your statement.
