Went through a divorce. Called Beneficial as soon as my husband left & told them I couldn't afford the payment with just my income. I told them I needed to get my loan refinanced so I could afford the payments, that I wanted to keep my house. They said there was nothing they could do.

I called several times to try & get them to redo something so I wouldn't loose my home.

Finally they said we can redo it but it would only lower my payment $10. My payment is $743.00 a month. I'm trying to raise my 3 kids with no child support & pay for lights & necessities we need, $10 was not going to help me. I'm even trying to work two jobs & I still barely make it.

I have called & left messages for someone to call me between certain times but noone ever returned my calls. And everytime I tried calling someone to speak with I always got a voice mail saying leave a message & I will call you back. But NOONE ever did.

I also wrote them a letter trying to get in contact with them to see if they would please look at my loan & redo something so that I could afford to keep my house. I still had no response from them until I received papers from an attorney (Mapother & Mapother) taking me to court because Beneficial wants to sell the house.

I went to court & spoke in front of the judge & with the attorney. The attorney said he would go back & see what they say. That was a month ago & I have yet to receive a response from the attorney or from Beneficial.

Before I got behind too bad I had my mother call them to see if they would give me until tax time to catch the payment up. It was only behind about $2,500 & tax time was about 2 months away. I could have cought it up, which it would only have been a temporary fix. I still couldn't afford $743 a month. They still wouldn't call me back to say that would be okay.

It's not like I wasn't wanting to pay them. I just can't afford the loan payment with only my income in the household.

I've never seen anyone so unwilling to try & work with you or to help you in a very bad time. It's not like anyone would ask to be put in that situation. But sometimes things happen that are beyond your control & you can't do anything about it if noone will work with you on the matter.

I'm sorry your circumstances changed which makes it difficult to pay your mortgage. Know that Beneficial has nothing to gain by you not being able to pay your bill. If they could help you and lower your payment they would. Morethan likely you just don't ualify at this time. One alternative is to file hardship with the company. This will hurt your credit a little, but it will temporarily lower your payment to help you get caught up. Hope that helps. Good luck
