Iib - Institute For Independent Business The Truth Will Out !! Watford United Kingdom
As a (for the limited time being) a member of the Institute of Independent Business I was quite astonished to see that so many present and past members share what I thought was my perhaps my sole mistaken perception of this organization.
Yes, I joined some years ago and having paid my school fees I have grown a very successful consulting company and acquired an interest in various lucrative ventures but this has been more through desperation having wasted a Hell of lot of money and gained very little from this organization.
The members are great and it is a super network but unfortunately by leaving the secret code TCHC (The Cheque Has Cleared) on their ads there are some pretty unfortunate people who have joined in their sad pursuit of wealth - which will never happen with the IIB.which is simply another well-thought-out money making scheme!

I have been an IIB associate for more than 5 years. During this time I have lived in the UK, China and currently Australia. I have seen people come and go, some people are probably not cut out for life in independent consultancy. My confusion and annoyance is why do people blame the IIB for their own failings? There is a fairly rigorous selection process, I have known selectors suggest to people that they are not qualified but most people are accepted if they really believe they should join. Either way, you are given a number of people to call and I believe most give their honest views- I know because I often give references out of respect for the fact that people are spending a serious amount of money. Life is hard at first as an independent, gone are the business class flights on expenses, the easy knowledge of income at the end of the month. However, you also get independence, freedom and the ability to chose your work. I love my life in the IIB, I chose to work in the areas that interest me, I have great clients, I earn lots of money and I get to spend time with my children when I want to. I would not give up my associateship and would certainly not want to go back to being a wage slave like my friends. You have to work hard, how could spending a few thousand dollars ever guarantee you several hundred thousand a year in return if you do nothing? However, if you do work hard, network and aim to get real benefit from membership then you can be very successful. Chris Sydney Australia
