Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

FHA Mortgage.org contacted me in my home search and offered my some credit services.  I spoke with Brian Conrad 215-647-9743 who turned out to be a salesman but he promised me they would fix me credity but specifically they would contact the lenders by phone, contact the creditors and negotiate terms or tell them to remove things or they'd face a 10K fine, etc....i signed up with Emmediate credit solutions AKA mycreditcompany.com at the suggestions of fha morntgage.org.  i thought it was a legitamate company backed by the government so i'd be safe.  After the company deducted 99.00 from my bank account and a few weeks go by and i didnt hear a word from them, not an email, phone call, confirmation, etc, i decided to call and check in.

A person by the name of "Alex" answers who refuses to give me his last name.  When i asked him what was done - he told me dispute letters are sent out every 30 days and after 90 days a credit score is requested again.  when i told him i was told phone calls were made to the creditors and bureaus, he said no that doesnt happen.  So, i said i was unhappy and wanted to talk to a manager.  He flat out said NO YOU CAN'T.  Then i said well i want to cancel my membership and i want a copy of the dispute letters that were sent on my behalf. He implied that they probably werent sent out yet and i couldnt get a copy because i cancelled!!!!  He then proceeded to hang up on me!!!  This company is a SCAM.  I should have thrown the 99.00 in the trash can.  They did nothing.  They are very nice and convincing when they want you as a customer, once they get you as a customer, they put you on the back burner and do nothing.  They did nothign for me.  The FHA should be ashamed of themselves for backing a company as deceitful and unprofessional as this one.

FEDERAL TRADE COMMISION - PDF - FAIR CREDIT REPORTING ACT

http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/sites/default/files/articles/pdf/pdf-0111-fair-credit-reporting-act.pdf

The Fair Credit Reporting Act, which all credit repair agencies are goverend by states:

"You, as the consumer, have the right to question any item that is inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, unverifiable or obsolete and request it be verified or removed from your file with the thee major credit bureaus -TransUnion, Equifax, and Experian"

Once a dispute is received by one of the credit bureaus, they have 30 days to verify the information as being correct or they must remove the disputed items from the credit report. If the item cannot be verified, it must be removed.

As to this person stating nothing happened in a few weeks, let's look at the time frame that is allowed by federal law, and the US Post Office.

Mycreditcompany.com mails out disputes by certified mail as to create a paper trail and to know the actual time at which a credit bureau recieves the dispute. They have 30 days to respond. If you take into consideration of the time it takes for mail to arrive at the credit bureau, the reponse time allowed under federal law, and the time for the bureau to mail back either 1) verification or 2) notification of removal with an update credit report, you would have to assume you would be looking at approx. 40 to 45 days depending on the mail.

If a phone call is required to either a credit bureau or to a creditor directly, the client gives permission to mycreditcompany.com, to communicate with either on their behalf.

All clients are given a secured "Client Portal" (a web page) where they can refer to at any time and see each dispute that has been sent to either a credit bureau or a creditor and see the response. Also all notes of any communication with either of the above is also noted here for a client to review whether the communication is by certified mail, fax, email, or phone.

Samples of dispute letters are also sent to clients along with emails with any and all updates.

Because of the nature of how credit bureaus work, and the time frame allowed by federal law, credit reports are updated each three months so that ample time is allowed for the credit bureau to update their files.

Corrections or deletions to an individuals credit report does not automatically udate the entire file of the individual unless the automatic update set by the credit bureaus happens.

FHA has nothing to do with these people

FHA doesnt have a retail divison to administer their progrms or let potential or current FHA borrowers know of any program or premium changes within FHA, so they have nothing to do with the validity of Emmidiate Credit Solutions, Lexington Law or any other company claiming that they are part of FHA or the government home loan programs.  There are many reputable companies out there that are able to conduct business with FHA approved and insured loan programs however, but none of which are actually operated by FHA.

So FHA has nothing to be ashamed of if you cant read what your signong up for, or are to naieve to know that those scams are scams, then its nobodys fault but your own.  Emmediate credit solutions and Lexington Law are both major rip-offs that make it hard for people to find and trust a legitimate company to restore their credit and get them approved for a home loan...
