My name is Niki and I was actually friends with the author of this ad for a short while when I also worked at Infinity (from Feb 08-Apr 08). I too was in need of a job and added my resume to careerbuilder.com. I got an e-mail that matched me to this job and I applied for it. I got a call back THAT day. I thought it was too good to be true. I went in and had my first interview. Just like Jay said, Shanara had this weird, demonic smile on her face the entire time and asked questions about my goals in life and self-esteem. After the interview I was told I would get a call back. I was called again THAT night at around 7ish and was told to come in for a 2nd interview. I was to come in the next day to meet with a "top account manager". I still had no idea that this was a commission based job and still had no CLUE that we would be going "business to business". (That means driving to a certain part of town that is your "territory" and parking and hauling your a*s into every single business in that territory. I had Lakeland Dr. has a territory and I swear to you I went into every business on both sides of the street from Old Fannin to I-55.) I arrived the next day excited b/c like Jay, I didn't have a job at the time and was going through a VERY rough time. I had to leave my former job b/c of sexual harrassment issues from my boss and up until I got a call from Infinity thought I wouldn't get another job for a long time. Because of all of this I was going through a very rough depression and had actually been in the hospital for it. I went out with Lynda (the assistant manager-I actually liked her and don't think she was as bad as Shanara) and we drove down to Natchez, MS with another "top account manager" and another person that was on the 2nd interview. We got there and then proceeded to park and walk all over downtown Natchez and go to every single business. By the end of the day I thought it was kind of strange but the way I was explained everything I thought, Wow I could really make money from this job and actually own my own business! So when offered the position I took it and was ecstatic. At the time like I said I was going through a rough period and was completely BROKE. I had a brand new vehicle and was actually behind on payments and I couldn't even afford the gas to drive to work. (B/c they don't tell you that you don't get your paycheck for like 3 weeks and then you don't get paid for that week of training until you complete 10 applications). I called my "leader" Lynda and told her my situation and she told me not to worry about it that she would pick me up from work and I could ride with others out into the field. For a couple of weeks it was okay and I eventually got my money from training. Things seemed to be good. I really liked the people I was working with and we went out and had "team night" once a week (which I could never afford and Lynda always paid for - but I was expected to go..). My family knew it was a scam and tried to get me to quit but I didn't. We were told we could never say anything negative while in the office but yet we were reprimanded if we came in and had no apps completed. We went on a couple of business trips and we were never told that the money for the hotels were actually coming out of our paychecks. Everytime I felt doubtful about the job EVERYONE (and i mean EVERYBODY, shanara lynda, kash, robert, income, jay, darryl) would say that I just needed to work harder and be optimistic. Well it was not paying my car note! I told Shanara how bad off I was (I lived with my mom but did not receive any money from her) and she said fi I EVER needed an advance she would help me out but when I did she told me she couldn't b/c I didn't have enough apps completed for the week or something crazy like that. I drove to Clarksdale for one day trip and Jay (the author of the this report) actually put gas in my car which I was thankful for and appreciated it seeing as how I had no money and I had the only vehicle that could accomadate a few people. He eventually wanted the money back and when I couldn't pay him he was very upset and stopped talking to me (this is after I quit though.) I ended up quitting and several of the people there (income, jay, lynda, shanara, kash) CHEWED me out. I'm talking about dog cussed me for leaving saying that all this money was spent on me and they couldn't believe I was letting people down by going. Well I had to do what was best for me and I had to leave. I was not making ANY money. The last 3 checks I received from Infinity were all under $40. I left and ended up losing my car anyways. Not that it's their fault but if I had been somewhere else working it may not have happened. I stopped talking to everyone that worked there except Kash and Robert but as of now the only person I speak to that worked there is Robert and that is every once in a while. I just remember how BADLY i was treated for leaving and now I see most everyone that treated me that way has left. The reason I wanted to reply to this was b/c at my new job 2 guys in suits came in with the SAME nametags as we used to wear and I was like "you guys work for infinity right?"and they said no they worked for another company blah blah that they were on behalf of at&t. I was like hold on right there. I used to do the exact same thing that you are doing now and it's not going to work. I was like get out of this business while you can. B/c you couldn't possibly like walking in the rain or in the heat/cold, using your own phone to call for the apps and run your phone bill up and im sure you dont like having to pay for your own gas. They were like yeah its a tough job but we just got into town and apparently the office here shut down and we've been sent to clean the area up. (we used to say things like that too) I told them I had a complex acct and wished them luck on their endeavours and also warned them to the nasty treatment they will receive from businesses in the area that have been jacked up by ppl that worked at infinity. But apparently Shanara's office has closed. So I just wanted to agree that it is a complete scam and even though I kinda realized it before alot of others I was still treated badly about leaving. So if you see any kind of office or hear of anything like this DO NOT APPLY for the job. You will wish you hadn't.
