We are sorry you had a bad experience with someone who you counted on to provide you with information. It is strictly against company policy to treat a customer that way. However, based on the fact that we do not have a "Frederick", working here, it was perhaps an independent sales representative who spoke to you. Without more detailed information I could not confirm. However, you may have received a few different answers as it was only most recently that IMS began a program where merchants could show they have gone out of business and the fee would be waived or refunded. There is a chance that when speaking with different people, you did receive different levels of awareness regarding this program. However, the blue writing above your signature on the Merchant Application very clearly states that there is a Termination Fee of $295. This information is specifically printed in blue to stand out from the rest of the document.
