Please be aware, that we love our pup and would not trade him in for the world. Also note that I have full dialogue email correspondence between the owner of Boston Kennels and myself.

We purchased our guy for almost $2,000 in April, within a week he began to limp, at the vet we discovered he has a genetic issue with his hind leg (luxated patellas), which was never disclosed, when contacted the breeder denies this having run in any of the three litters, at this point she offered to either "exhange him" or to assist financially .. we moved forward with our surgical consult which concluded the severity of his leg was a grade 3 of 4... he was 14 weeks old !!

When the information and surgical cost was faxed, the Boston Kennels never responded, THREE further attempts were executed. It was not until legal counsel was mentioned, that I received a response. At this point Ms Deresh became quite defensive, and withdrew her offer.

Also note, included in our purchase price was the expectation to recieve AKC registration, several e mails and phone calls later, it is now Mid-July, we still have not.

This woman is a DMD, as well as a business person, I am shocked at how poorly she treats clients. As for offering to "exchange" the dog, that in my opinion is in poor taste, if a child was "imperfect" can we send them back to where they came from !!

Your last post is dated in September. I'm curious as to where things stand for you. The "story" Irina gave us was that she has a kennel in Lithuania because Standard Schnauzer politics in the US was keeping her from showing her dogs. She had a female pup, and told us that she was 12 weeks old--brought her to the US for a friend who could not keep her. We fell for it, and took the pup in. After many temperament issues, thousands of dollars in obedience training and an emotional rollercoaster, and a "small world" connection, we have since found out that the dog was really 18 weeks when we brought her in, she had prior owner who returned her to Irina--the dog scared her. Irina knowingly resold the dog to us--a family with young children. We were unsuccessful in reaching Irina. All numbers changed by the time our issues came to a head. And any attempts were ignored. At this point, I just want to know that this woman is out of business. We really love our dog, but we are forced with the possibility of rehoming her after 5 years. Needless to say, the emotional cost has far outweighed all the other expense.

I have submitted the letter below to several news stations in Boston, buyer bewares, and hep me hanks ..cross you fingers that we spare a pooch in the future ! To whom it may cocnern : I purchased a pup from Boston Kennels in Newton, MA , the woman is a DMD, her name is Irina Deresh, she imports french and engish bulldogs from Europe (Lithuania to be precise). The cost of my purchase was $1800. My poor pup has a list of congenital issues that originate from bad breeding practices. Through web sites like the ripoff report, I have found several unhappy customers of Dr Deresh. One woman even had to put her pup to sleep at 6 months of age. The cost alone for these precious pups can curl your hair , but have you ever been to the Angell Memorial on a Sunday?? Initially Boston kennels had agreed to help us with our finances of Bud's surgery for a luxated patella when he was 14 weeks old , she then blew me off ignored my calls, e mails , and faxes. I have met a few people on line through the ripoff report who also have the same story. In addition to the ailments, our promised and gauranteed AKC papers still have yet to be received for my guy , they were to come 4 weeks after our purchase, I brought him home in APRIL. I would love to get my money back , but am doubtful , I am more concerned with the uneducated consumer out there who is willing to fork over two grand, for a sick pooch. Can you hep me put this bad breeder out to pasture???? Sincerely, Aimee, Bill and Bud .. The Fitzgeralds

I am still having problems with my poor guy , he is now a bit over 7 months old, I have yet to hear from Dr. Deresh, my last correspondence with her was MONTHS ago, she never responded to my emails, or phone calls. My friends call me aima, and my favorite numbers are 78, I access the ripoffreport on aol I hope this issue with her bad practices can be resolved, sooner rather than later, I would hate to see another person go through all of this.

I just recently had the same thing happen to me with a French Bulldog from her. He started limping the day that I got him home. She has denied that she has ever had this happen with one of her dogs. I am willing to participate in anything to get her out of business.

I have filed a report on this site as well. I am going to have to sue Irina To get my money back. Five months and no AKC papers for my $1,600.00 "purebred" dog. I have family in her state and plan to serve her myself if need be. I want to file a complaint againt her with the District Attorneys office as well. If we write together, i.e. more than one consumer is complaining, it may give us credibility. Feel free to contact me [Place your comments below and be sure to include your FULL contact information so Rip-off Report can contact you.]

Did You Get Her Offer in Writing?

If you have proof that this person sold you a dog with a medical condition and your vet is willing to attest to that fact, contact the District Attorney in your area and the District Attorney in the area where the breeder is located. If you have proof that the breeder agreed to help with medical costs, include that information as well. Tell them you do not wish to return or exchange the dog since you do not know what will happen to it if you do. Contact the AKC with all of the above information as well. If the person is selling dogs advertised as AKC dogs and they are not registered, they should want to get involved. If all else fails, try small claims court to get at least a partial reimbursement of the medical costs.
