Retailers like this infuriate me. I too made the huge mistake of ordering a kitchen table and chairs and was given the same nonsense about back orders and delays. If you already have filed a complaint with the BBB good, if not I urge you to do so. You can file online at www.bbb.org. Also file a complaint letter with the State Attorney General's office at www.oag.state.ny.us Make sure you inform Island Dinette that you have filed complaints since each one needs to be answered by them (fax them a copy of the complaint letter). They think they are untouchable and don't care about you, but finally when enough complaints come in and those same rude, obnoxious morons start to feel that they may be out of a job (as in out of business), you'll see a definite turn around. Good luck and don't get mad, get even.

I have worked in the furniture business for several years, I wanted to give you a little inside information. The credit card company should be able to assist you in receiving a refund since you have not recieved any merchandise from this company. Does this furniture dealer have a re-stocking fee for cancellations? I would look into finding out if they do b/c once the furniture arrives to their warehouse they may try and charge you a restocking fee for cancelling the order. I can tell you that the manufacturers cannot cancel an order once it has shipped from the warehouse to the dealer, nor can an order be returned b/c a customer decides to cancel.
