Italian Buffet Bad Service Bad Food! Chased out of the resturant and yelled out b/c a tip wasn't left. Sarasota Florida
I had been wanting to try out the new resturant in Sarasota, FL called the Italian Buffet. It had been there for about a year.
When my husband and I walked in we took a look at the buffet. I hesitated because the food looked like it had been sitting there for several hours. They also did not have a very good selections of "italian" food. I decided I would give it a chance. We sat ourselves, after searching for a clean table. The waitress finally came over 8 mins or so after we sat down. She asked us what we wanted to drink. Then gave us our silverware and plated to go up to the buffet. She seemed to not be in a good mood, not pleasant at all.
We helped ourselves to the buffet. Sat down and began to eat. The food really wasn't good at all. Very bland & wasn't hot at all. In the middle of the meal I had finished my drink. I had to hunt down the waitress for a refill. The waitress never came back to our table except to drop the check off. Never asked how our meal was. So we got up, paid and left. We left no tip. It's a very rare occasion that my husband and I don't leave tips. We are good tippers, but when we have a very bad experience we don't. I'm honest about that.
So we walk out of the resturant only to be chased out by the waitress, saying...."Was something wrong?" We were confussed. Then she said you didn't leave me a tip! We told her we didn't think she was worthy of a tip b/c she gave us bad service. Then she started screaming at us!!! We walked off and ignored her. The people that were walking into the resturant just started at her as she kept on yelling as we drove off!!!
I will never do business there again. I was in complete shock that someone would chase after customers and yell because they didn't recieve a tip!!! Please don't go there, unless you want bad food and bad service.

Complain to manager, wait staff should NEVER comment on tip.

It is extremely unprofessional for a server to ever make mention of a tip. I wouldn't have tipped either it sounds like. She had no business embarassing you. That would cost her her job at any restaraunt. Call the manager and give them her name and tell them what happened. She has no class and obviously sucks at her job.
