We gave our 1967 Camaro RS Convertible to James Hannah DBA Super Sport Auto Restoration Inc in late 1999. We gave him a $3,000 advance to get the restoration process rolling. By June of 2000 we had paid Hannah over $23,400 for work he had done on the Camaro. In July of 2000, Hannah requested another $1,200 to do more work. By Dec of 2,000 we had paid over another $4,100 bringing the grand total paid to Hannah in excess of $25,300.

The numerous problems arose in Jan of 2001. Hannah's shop was closed up and his work answering machine was no longer on. From 1/2001 on, we tried repeatedly, month after month to see our car. Hannah promised over and over that the Camaro would be done by such and such date, each time breaking his promise.

He wouldn't return our phone calls for weeks (sometimes months) at a time. When we would finally get to speak with Hannah to set up an appointment, he would later call or have his wife call to cancel or postpone the appointment. This went on for ONE YEAR AND FOUR months. On 5/10/2002, Roy was finally successful in getting a meeting with Hannah. However, the Camaro was not at Hannah's shop. Hannah stated it was at an undisclosed location having work done on it. Hannah again promised to have the Camaro done by 5/21/2002. That never happened. On 6/25/2002 we retain an attorney who sends a letter via certified mail to Hannah demanding the car to be returned in 10 days. This never happens either.

On 7/8/2002 Roy was admitted into the hospital and never came home again, passing away on 9/20/2002.

During the course of the two years up until this point of filing this complaint, we filed a report with the BBB, contacted Channel 13, and filed a complaint with Clark County Court-Dept of Business License. James Hannah's business licensce became inactive on 5/31/00 due to delinquent tax payment. The BBB could not get Hannah to respond, and Hannah lied to Channel 13 stating that he had spoken to Roy just two weeks prior to them contacting him. Roy was in the hospital on his death bed and had not spoken to Hannah since 2/12/02.

In Jan of 2003 after grieving the loss of Roy and getting matters in order, we contacted Hannah requesting his assistance in getting the Camaro back. We were met with Hannah's prior known ways of hiding and evading. We sent several faxes and mail via registered return receipt mail. Finally he sent us a fax stating he had contacted his attorney and we would have to communicate through him. So we hired a lawyer ourselves. The end result was we would meet with Hannah on 2/28/2003 to pick up the Camaro and pay approximately $2,700 for final work.

On 2/28/03 we went to pick up the Camaro. It was in HORRID condition. We could not believe our eyes!! Hannah stated that there were several parts not on the car, but still in his garage. He wanted us to pay him the full amount, and pick up the parts at 10am the following day. Totally absurd but par for the course considering all he had put us through in the prior years.

There were several calls made to our lawyer and Hannah refused to deduct the amount of the invoice for the parts not with the car. Hannah's lawyer came to the location and we ended up getting the parts and paid for the car minus $128 for the missing fuel tank. Mind you,the fuel tank was on the car when it was originally given to Hannah in 1999. There were several other parts that had been stripped from the car as well, but we were between a rock and a hard place. We were video taping the car the whole time. We were given no choice but to pay Hannah $2,615.64 to FINALLY get the car back. We just wanted this over. Talk about insult to injury! So we paid and towed the car home.

We have since had experts appraise the Camaro and each told us that we got SCREWED! We went to a lawyer and basically were informed that while we probably would indeed win a judgement, we would not recoup any money, nor could we stop him from doing this to others.

Sooo, our mission is to get the word out to the public! Beware of James Hannah DBA Super Sport Auto Restoration Inc. He has screwed others too. We have personal spoken to two separate parties who have had lawsuits against him for the same thing. Go to

and view the pending lawsuits against him. There are currently 5 active and 2 closed. Some also include his wife, Mary Hannah AKA Mary Louise Lynch Hannah. Since Hannah is so good at avoiding people and doing this to people time and time agian, we are going to give you all the additional contact info we have. We did end up hiring a private detective.

Corrections: In the original filing, I inadvertently typed "personal" instead of "personally." Correct name of James Hannah's business in question is Super Sports Auto Restorations Inc...not Super Sport Auto Restoration Inc. Updates: Presently there are 6 active lawsuits against James Hannah. The information is alleged and was obtained from public records/files that were retrieved from Clark County District Court located at 200 S. 3rd St. Las Vegas, NV (corner of 3rd St and Carson). Case 00-A-417407-C Filed 4/11/2000 Case 00-A-421627-C Filed 7/14/2000 Case 01-A-442121-C Filed 11/05/2001 Case 02-A-457577-B Filed 10/10/2002 Case 03-A-464870-C Filed 3/19/2003 Case 03-A-464965-C Filed 3/20/2003 There is one relevant closed case: Case 99-A-412396-C Filed 12/15/1999 These cases all have several common threads running through them. Hannah did to us exactly what he did to these other people. There is no way possible that these cases are merely coincidences. If anyone would like to assist us in our efforts to prevent James Hannah from doing this to one more person, we urge you to please respond to this filing. We are dedicated to seeing this to the end!!!!!!! Go to http://courtgate.coca.co.clark.nv.us:8490/DistrictCourt/asp/SearchPartyOptions.asp Type in case number but leave out the last letter. Go to http://sandgate.co.clark.nv.us:8498/servlet/BusinessLicense This address will allow you to view Hannah's license status. Go to http://trweb.co.clark.nv.us/search_public1.asp Type in parcel ID #162-08-704-022 and you will be able to view the current amount of back taxes owed by James Hannah. Presently it is in excess of $18,000.
