Well like the title says this is from a wife point of view..I know that we are not working for this so called company but for the wives we have to handle what they throw at out husbands as well..hometime,pay etc...
Well first off this company is totally a joke in itself..They put my husband on a dedicated loop to start with.that worked out ok till they decided to let him run it one week then the next week gave him crappy loads..well at the time we really had no choice but to just stick with it..cause we are paycheck to paycheck here and to miss one would put us in a money crunch..anyway this nov 11 would have been my husbands one year with them and he was going to get his vacation and that was out christmas..well the very end of october they send him a message saying to call his dispatcher so well he did and they tell him he's got one of two options either go lease purchase with the truck he's got (which is a hunk of junk) or go back otr and get a couple cent pay increase but was also told that there were other otr drivers making less and they would get the loads..but that was his options wow talk about great timing right before the holidays..when they intend to screw someone they do it well..like I said please dont waste your valuable time with this company they are not ever worth it..I hope they go under..

You are right about the ecomony.   Freight is down 27% at this time. And becomming less.

But the Lady is 100% correct about J.B. Hunt and the way they treat thier Drivers.  Hunt drivers are forced into Leasing..      Been  there, Done that,  I am an ex-Hunt driver.   I call J.B. Hunt   " The Rolling Homeless Shelter "   You will always have a Roof over your head and a small amount of Money to eat......  Somewhere U.S.A.  You will NOT support your Family or Pay you Bills.

JB like ALL other companies are in a freight crunch.  It isn't like it used to be so changes need to be made.  You can also FORGET the CB rumors, driver talk and all the other BS you hear from people who haven't a clue about how business works.

There are companies which have laid off large percentages of their driving force.  Others have terminated holiday pay and in some cases, even vacations.  Times ARE NOT GOOD FOR TRUCKING...even for JB.

Some companies have lost major accounts and their associated "dedicated" lanes.  The so-called "crappy loads" you referenced may be becaue that's all there is with that customer.  If that customer is loosing business, then there will be less to ship.

Simply jumping from company to company doesn't resolve the problem.  The freight crunch is ACROSS THE BOARD.

When freight becomes slim, companies need to make adjustments with the driving force.  Sometimes it means eliminating dedicated lanes, moving drivers from regional to OTR and sometimes it means LAYING OFF drivers.  Understand this,JB or any other company DOES NOT MAKE MONEY unless the trucks move.  The company wants every driver to have a load every day they are employed.
