Needed a vehicle ASAP, have bad credit so I went to JD Byrider/CNAC. First car me and my husband test drove ran hot and cut out on us plus the gas tank was on empty when we got in to test drive it. Got back to the dealership and they tried telling us that we didn't qualify for any other vehicle but we told them that they better qualify us for something.

We asked about a Taurus that we saw on the lot and our salesman told us it had a burnt fuel pump (but it was out on the salesfloor, go figure). We found a different Taurus, we test drove it (its gas tank was empty as well).

They told us where to go for the test drive instead of letting us drive it on streets we wanted to and they took us on a smooth road that had no bumps what so ever. We agreed on the car and went back to do all the paperwork. (We spent from about 1:30pm til about 9pm trying to get a car.)

After two days of having the car, I was finally able to get out and really drive the car and found out why they had us drive the streets that we did... the struts are bad on the car.

I told my husband to look under the hood to check all the fluids and stuff and we ended up finding other problems. The seal to the antifreeze tank leaks, the pvc or pcv valve is sticking and the hose that connects it is cracked at one end and splitting at the other end, it has the wrong size voltage battery in it, water leaks into the front passenger side when it is pouring down rain, there are some wires and other stuff under the hood that have electrical tape around them instead of them being fixed and behind the back seats and in the trunk, i found tons of broken glass.

I went to JD Byrider to schedule the car to be serviced for all of that to be fixed and then asked for a copy of the "100-point inspection" that they claim is done on every vehicle before being offered for sale and all they could give me was a blank checklist of what is done in the inspection and everything that is wrong with my car is on the checklist... when I asked the salesman for the checklist, he asked me why I wanted it and as soon as I told him that I wanted it because I don't believe they did an inspection on my car, he pulled me into and office and closed the door so that customers would not hear my complaints.

His excuse for the wrong size battery was that "it was probably just the right size to pass the inspection." His excuse for the struts is that "they sell high mileaged vehicles and with high mileage comes normal wear and tear." I explained to him that the first car ran hot and how the other one had a burnt fuel pump and thats when he got real smart with me and said "are you worried about your car or the other cars?!" He did write on the "We Owe, You Owe" paper that the car would be re-vacuumed and inspected for glass.

I have 3 kids that go in the back seat, two of them are old enough and in booster seats and put their hands back behind the seat sometimes to help pull themselves up into their booster seats and are at risk of getting cut. I cannot put my kids' stroller in the trunk of my car for fear that glass will roll into it and end up cutting my kids.

Everything that is wrong with my car is on the checklist for the 100-point inspection and therefore, if it went through the 100-point inspection like they claim that it did, it would not have these problems and there wouldn't be broken glass in my vehicle!!

We changed our payment dates with CNAC and THEY forgot to enter it into the computers so on the day that our payment would have been due before we asked for it to be changed, CNAC did not contact me or my husband before calling my father-in-law and my mother. They should have called me and my husband before calling our references and they had no right telling our references that we did not make our car payment and if we did not make it then they would issue a repo order the very next day to have the car repo'd immediately.

I looked over my papers to really take a look at what we're paying for the car and out of curiosity, I looked up the blue book value and JD Byrider is seriously screwed up because they are getting MORE than double what the car is worth. The blue book value is 8,015 and they are going to end up getting a little over 19k from us.

I will never recommend JD Byrider to anyone, even if it was someone with a million dollars who wants to pay for the whole car up front.
