We were looking to reface our kitchen and bath cabinets w/ maybe one our two custom cabinets in the mix. My neighbor used Jeff 7 years ago for his kitchen remodel and it still looks great so I thought about giving him a try. First I googled his name and came across this report and got nervous. Jeff was 1 of 2 people I called in to bid. After meeting with Jeff and confronting him with this report, I still proceeded to sign a contract.
The other company sent out a salesperson and there was a big difference between the two. You could tell Jeff knew his stuff. He had ideas and suggestions from his practical experience that gave my wife and I confidence.
He did take longer than the first time estimate and there were bumps in the road, but he kept in contact with me during the project. I looked at it like when I do my own projects, it's never just one trip to Home Depot...My bigger concern was doing it correctly, not fast and that is what I received. A few extra days meant little compared to staring at something I wasn't happy with for the next twenty years. My wife and I are thrilled with how our kitchen turned out.
Jeff is skilled at what he does and his suggestions turned out to be the right ones. Keep in mind he is like a lot of good tradespeople, they are good at what they do and maybe not the best business people. I learned from one many years ago, with Jeff I put everything in writing so there was not any question on what I was getting and what I was not getting. Sweat the details and put it all down on the contract.

I am greatly disturbed after reading this so-called complaint and here are my opinions-I have a few questions for this writer that has written these misleading and unproven accusations and statements. First of all by your wonderful process of elimination did you bother to file a Police Report for these alleged stolen items??? 2nd Why would you let someone back into your home that you believe (Enough so to post it on the World-Wide Web) stole your property??? I find it very odd that a company that goes into many many homes for many years now and yours is the very first accusation of things being stolen! That's terrible to mislead the public with no facts or evidence pointing to these individuals for your items being stolen, If anything was ever really stolen???. Why didn't you demand a lie detector test immediately??? In your complaint you said They brought it up to you and agreed to it???
As a character witness for Charlie his helper, Here is a man that worked TWO full-time jobs to support his wife and children! He had to have major security clearance for his other job which means he could not have any criminal record! And why didn't you ask Charlie directly? Oh that's right you stated that he was too innocent looking or smooth and had his chance to come clean and didn't act guilty? OR MAYBE HE NEVER DID ANYTHING WRONG IN THE FIRST PLACE DETECTIVE CLOUSEAU! Charlie can not perform your lie detector test now as he was KILLED in an off-roading accident right in front of his poor wife and children that he worked so hard to support!
And as for Jeff Maxwell of Maxwell Woodworks, You mentined he was hurt so he didn't get back to you right away? Did you forget to mention that he nearly cut 4 of his fingers off on a table saw and still, Yes still did he not come back and finish the job??? And do many extras for FREE as well??? EVEN AFTER YOUR ACCUSATIONS OF CALLING HIM AND HIS EMPLOYEE THIEVES??? Boy does that sound like a thief or a good honest man who will correct a wrong even under your harsh accusations??? The owner of a Cabinet company for many years is all of a sudden going to start stealing cameras and laptops from his customers??? Is this a complaint or a consumer trying to get something for nothing??? Maxwell Woodworks in my opinion is an Outstanding company with many referrals. In my opinion he is a family man of the upmost Integrity and the quality and pricing of his work is Excellent! I will refer him to Anyone with the upmost confidence!!!
MY ADVICE-If you listen to this complaint you ought to be committed. Nice try for a very weak complaint that is full of contradictions and half-truths.

Mr. Maxwell came back and repaired the one inch gap next to the refigerator, the two inch gap under the stove and also added some shelves at the end of the island. We thought this was decent of him as it was some additional work that he did not have to do. Mr. Maxwell explained that our communications were ignored because he was "hurt" that we considered he or his helper suspects in the theft of our camera and laptop computer. Mr. Maxwell mentioned a polygraph test and I have had time to check around a little. I think he has a good idea. If he and his helper are still willing, I am up for it. If the results are negative (innocent), I will pay for the test(s) and post the results here without further comment- thus granting Maxwell's Woodworking a complete exoneration. If the results of the test(s) are positive (not innocent), Mr. Maxwell must immediately pay for the test(s) and reimburses us for our loss in full. In the event of inconclusive results, the cost of the test(s) would be shared 50/50 and the results would be posted here. If Mr. Maxwell agrees, he can contact me at his earliest convenience.
