Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?

In sept. 2018 I had a horrible experience flying with JetBlue. I have tried to file complaints over the phone, over facebook and over email but I get the impression they are not being filed in any official way nor have I been offered any vouchers or compensation. It ended up taking me 60 hours to get from Athens to Phoenix.

So the airline put up the wrong gate on the tablets at JFK international airport and at gate 2 signalled to go to gate 21 (quarter mile apart). I had found gate 2, checked it out before any of the changes and gotten food next door. When I went to gate 2, I realized I needed to run to gate 21 so I did, only to find that I and a handful of people had just barely missed them closing the door (for the same reason).

We went up to the JetBlue helpdesk to try and get us on the plane. One attendant stood doing nothing and waiting for elite customers. He refused to serve us and sent us to get in line. And then I see he changed his mind and talks to the people but is back to "only serving elite" when I get over there! I was the only one he wouldn't speak to and so I found my place back in the long line and waited.

Finally I got up to an attendant and asked for the next soonest flight and he told me 24 hours. At this point I'm crying, I begged for anything indirect or from the other airport explaining "I'm a college kid from the southwest I cannot afford 24h in NYC. I've been travelling for 30 hours and I just want to go home". He refuses to give me any food, hotel, or transportation vouchers and affirms next flight is 24 hours. And I go, "this can't be legal right? my dad's a lawyer and I can't imagine that he would ever experience something like this." So now the guy does a quick search and goes "oh well there's an indirect flight through boston from the othet airport". I was furious, how could he not have mentioned that until the idea of a lawsuit crossed his mind?

And I was right to be so anxious about my safety. I was so sleep deprived that I got ripped off by the first taxi I use and I let my parents book a hotel for me. Between transportation and that hotel, the 12 hour layover cost me a total of about $300.

Jetblue mishandled my bag, broke 2 souveniers and it took another full day to get it back to me because they gave me instructions to ask other airlines for my bag at PHX skyharbor and those employees all acted like they had no idea what was going on (though I later learned they were just being unhelpful).

It seems like you may have been late and that is the reason you missed your flight.

Boarding starts 30 minutes before departure and you must be at the gate at least 10 minutes before departure. I have been to T5 at JFK and can tell you that it is not a quarter mile between gates 2 and 21. Even at an average walking pace it should take you no more than a couple of minutes to make that walk, and you claim you were runnning.

What does this tell us? That you took quite a long time to get your food, and you returned to Gate 2 late. This is what caused you to then run to Gate 21 and miss your flight. As had you arrived on time, it would have been very obvious that at 30 minutes before departure that something wasn't right at Gate 2. But since you didn't mention any of that we can figure that as soon as you arrived at Gate 2 you realized you were now at the wrong gate.

You failed to mention anythign about getting paged. Very often they will page a passenger they know is in the terminal but not boarded yet. This means that it is very likely that you were paged before the flight as well. If it was your mistake then the airline doesn't owe you a thing, you are just lucky that they booked you on a later flight without any additional fees.

You say that a handfull of other people missed the flight, yet somehow you were the one singled out to not be assisted at all...ummm..okay. By the way if you and a handfull missed the flight, how many actually made the flight? If I was to give percentages I would say 99% of the passengers "got it". Perhaps those were the people that actually showed up ON-TIME.

The other thing that has me confused is how exactly did this extra 12 hours equate to a 60 hour trip? Athens (Greece) to NYC is about 12 hours, you had a 12 hour layover so what happened the other day and a half?

By the way since your dad is an attorney(at least that is what you told JetBlue) what did he say that you were legally entitled to and when is the lawsuit coming?
