JNL Apparel and Beyond Took money and orders for custom shoes and then disappeared. Corsicana Texas
A personal friend of mine shared an advertisement on Facebook for this company that made custom Nikes for people's favorite sports teams. I went to their website and placed an order for a pair of custom Baltimore Ravens Nikes for my husband for Christmas to the tune of $229.00 plus shipping. There was nothing about the website that indicated a scam, the website was VERY well designed. I placed my order on November 14, knowing from the website that it would take approximately 6 to 8 weeks to receive my shoes. On December 10, I tried to go to the website (www.yourcustomkicks.com) to check my order status and the website had been removed. Their facebook page had also been removed. I replied to the original email I received from them for my order confirmation trying to check the status and I have not yet heard back. After all of this I googled them to see if perhaps the URL had changed for their web site and that is when I noticed all of the Ripoff Reports and other scam sites with complaints on this company. I called a phone number I found on one of these complaints for this company and the automated message did identify the company as JNL apparel, said to press 0 to speak to a representative, when you press 0, you are told to leave a message. I left one, but I dont expect to hear back. I know im not going to see my custom Nike shoes and I also know im not going to see my $229 again. This company is a complete scam, do not order from them and I hope they have a lawsuit filed against them once someone sees how many people they have burned. At $229 a pair, im sure they made a pretty penny before scooting off with our Christmas money. I also want to share, that on one of the other complaint sites, a gentleman was claiming he was the previous boss of the man who owned this JNL Custom apparel. He said that this man was James Stephens and he had a wife named Lanette, some easy research on Facebook turns up pages for Lanette where she talks about her and her husband being unable to make custom jerseys anymore because they are switching to custom shoes. I have seen some other complaints talking about how the website or a representative told them the company was bankrupt, but I do not see any evidence that they are actually filing bankruptcy, in my opinion, they just scammed people cut and dry.
