I called Joe's this morning to order two LG OLED TV's - EF9500 models. The sales person told me I should order a more expensive one than I found online off their website. The sales person claimed the one I had located was an 8 bit unit but the ones sold in the big box stores was a 10 bit unit. He then tried to upsell me a to a 10 bit unit.
When I hesitated, the sales person told me the 8 bit unit was made in a different country. Same identical model number but two different technology standards.....
Sounded way to fishy and so i backed away from the deal. Called my local store who called their LG rep. The rep said there is no 8 bit model and never was one in the EF9500 series. I then called LG directly and they also said they did not have an 8 bit model.
So - who to believe ? Both LG rep and their own customer service claims its some form of bait and switch if anyone is claiming they have an 8 bit unit with the identical model number and trying to upsell me to a 10 bit unit.....
I would have purchased on the spot even at the slightly higher price but being told something the manufacturer claims is untrue really concerns me about what exactly I'd be purchasing.
