on november 2nd I contacted joes av because after an internet search, they had the model tv i was looking for at a great price. their ad showed the tv was in stock. I called and the guy said it was on backorder and it would be a few weeks before they would have them in. he did tell me that was a version that was built in china and they had the u.s. version in stock and they could have it delivered in 5-7 days. the upcharge was an additional $250 approximately. further i had selected the 5 year extended warranty for a little over $200.00. the guy told me i needed the in-home warranty for an additional $170.00. I took both upcharges and waited. The order was placed for the different tv on november 3rd and on the 10th, i hadn't heard anything from the delivery service so i called joe's and spoke to a guy who kept saying, it takes time. he promised to contact the shipper and get back to me. he didn't. finally they sent me the contact info for am home delivery and i called them on the 10th of november and pressed them for an eta. the guy said it would be from 7-10 working days. Mind you it's already been 7 days. i've informed joe's av this was unacceptable and i wouldn't be there if delivery was going to be made past a certain date. i also advised them i didn't want the 5 year extended in home warranty because it was too expensive. he told me it was too late. i told him it wasn't and i wanted to cancel the whole deal. he said again that i couldn't. i told him i would refuse delivery. he said the shipper would charge me a lot of money for this. then he said he had to go. i have filed a complaint with the better business bureau on this retailer. the next time something seems too good to be true, chances are, it is. anyone reading this should be forewarned and keep shopping instead of doing business with joe's av. no one ever said anything about a 3 week delivery.

Low prices = slow delivery but I'm fine with that.

So far dealing with them has been fine for me.. I expect the delivery to take a while. These guys offer ridiculously low prices, you have to expect that..

I mean from what I'm reading, they actually sent you the TV but you refused it.. I can agree time frames are important but it's not like waiting a bit longer killed you.

I saved like a thousand dollars buying from them.. It's worth the wait imo. They even saved me from making a huge mistake by telling me the real specs of the TV's I was considering ourchasing. Specs I had been given wrong information about from other sources.. So they not only will get you your product.. Eventually.lol.. They have knowledgeable staff, that know more about the product, than the acual manufacturers tech suppport and spec pages... Good enough for me.. I'll let you know if My TV shows up and how long it takes.. Just ordered it today. C7 OLED from LG.

after my last discussion with the gentleman who was trying to do the right thing without actually pulling a tv from stock and having it overnight shipped to me, he apparently gave me a full refund on my credit card which I just found out.

this case is closed as far as i'm concerned. i'm satisfied.

Bait and switch with slow delivery if at all

This is a follow up to my November 11th post.  On November 19th, a day before the final deadline I gave them to deliver the tv, I got a call from a gentleman that was a seemingly nice guy who was following up with me after he contacted me on the 11th and assured me delivery would be made no later then the 20th but was shooting for the 19th. This time he advised me the tv just allegedly shipped. Mind you, the delivery service, AM Home Delivery has been in possession of the TV since the 3rd of November. I told them to cancel the order since I no longer wanted it. He offered more discounts but, this delivery is unacceptable after Joe's AV initially offered a 5-7 day delivery. He blamed the delivery service. I advised him it wasn't my problem since my deal is with Joe's AV. The guy I was talking to understood and I told him I expect a full refund due to their inability to deliver in a reasonable time. While this guy said he wanted to make me happy, seems to me if that were true, he would have pulled another identical tv from stock and had it over night delivered by a reputable carrier like UPS or FedEx or somebody. I have contacted my credit card company and told them to expect a full credit for the charges.
