I too worked for Johnson and Matlin International/Johnson Marketing. I was an intern and had a decent experience and made some money. I had read about Cydcor on ripoff report.com soon after I started working there, but I figured it was only an internship so it didn't matter (as long as they didn't cheat me out of money). Walking around all day was awful and I have not heard of any other sales job with such long hours. I've read the comments made by others and agree with most of them. If you are just an intern or are looking to get some experience, this is an acceptable (not good or great) job. I don't know how working your way up really works, but I wouldn't put all my eggs in one basket! Also, don't count on being able to use anyone at Johnson and Matlin as a reference . . . they give you the runaround every time you call!!

Jay It sounds to me like you were working for Cydcor or one of it's affiliates. Problem with this company is that it changes it's name so many times or has so many divisions it is impossible to keep track. Innovage, Dsmax, Granton Marketing, Cobra Marketing, IPG, Smart Circle and hundreds of smaller offshoots with ridiculous names such as Enigma Global. All the same, peddling crap door to door. Did your manager keep preaching about oppurtunity, morning chants, how important it is to have a great attitude? Did they accuse people of being negative when questioning the company? If so then you got the Juice old boy. Go to google and type in Dsmax Aftermath. It is a website created by people who were sucked into this Joke of an organisation. There are stories there from people who gave years to this organisation only to be spat out again broke as a joke. Very sad.

Jay (if that's your real name?) I too worked for Johnson Marketing Insights and I was skeptial at first during the interview company. I only worked there for a few months and had the same interview experience. After being hired it was a direct sales and marketing position and we did represent reputable comapnies like Verizon. I did well at first and the company trained me very well and my trainer was tough but fair. I ended up doing well and made really good money, but unfortunatley was unable to continue because of health problems. Had I not, I feel I would have progressed very far because the comapany evaluated it's employees based on their own performance and not their experience or lack there of. I feel that more comapanies should treat and evaluate employees based on their effort and performance, because most companies treat everyone the same and that's why people get frustrated! Don't get me wrong, the company requires a lot of hard work and dedication and not everyone is really that dedicated and realiable either. I only write this because I felt the experience was rewarding and really beneficail in my new sales career. The training I recieved was better than the training that my current company has given me in 6 months. My friend sent me this e-mail and I laughed bacause the only type of person that would have written this would have someone who either was not very good or needs to have a job that does not evaluate based on performance. Besides I wouldn't expect most people to base their career decsions on my thoughts or anyone elses for that matter. Fact is some people are worth having in comapny and some are not, why else would positions ever be open?
