I purchased a purebred titled imported German Shepherd for breeding from Hillsview Kennels. I paid the McNeill's $3800.00 for the dog Oct. 2007. I received AKC papers to transfer the dog into my name that the McNeill's signed off on BUT because they reside in Canada and the dog came from there the AKC required the dog to be registered and transferred in my name with the CKC FIRST before they could complete the process. The McNeill's never reg. the dog w/the CKC cause they'd sold her to me before they had the chance and figured since the dog was gonna be in the US and already reg. with the AKC there was no need.

In the meantime, AKC sent them a letter telling them what needed to be done on their part. Marcia McNeill stated to me in several emails that she'd take care of it no problem. 6 weeks went by and nothing...I called CKC and discovered Hillsview Kennels never registered the dog and they have no record of my dog Rosa in their system. I have a litter on the ground that's 9 wks old, most of the puppies have been sold and buyers are expecting papers as I also own the Sire who's an import as well. AKC and CKC had me file a complaint and send all documentation to prove I paid for the dog and own her legally and was promised papers. Marcia McNeill does not seem to be cooperating and I have a big mess. It could take 6 more weeks until I hear from CKC and AKC on this matter as it will take them that long to contact the McNeill's in writting and try to resolve this peacfully.

These people are the most unprofessional, unethical breeders I've ever come across. DO NOT send them any money, you might get the dog but you won't see the paperwork and the dog is worth about as much as the piece of paper you will never see.

After nearly 1 year of purchasing my import GSD from Hillsview Kennels and the assistance of the Canadian Kennel Club and AKC, the McNeill's finally got the registration papers worked out so that I could register my dog/litter.

I have purchased 1 adult and 2 puppies from Jonathan and Marcia McNeill. They were shipped with Air Canada and West Jet. Marcia explained everything to me and it all went so smooth. I recieved all my registrations without any hitches. They are very honest people and they are very critical about matching the right dog to the right home. They take a lot of pride in what they do! They give the dogs 24/7 and do not spread themselves over other jobs. All there puppies are born in the house with thier 2 kids handling the puppies as well. These people have awsome looking dogs and I am honored to own a HILLSVIEW dog.

NEVER BUY A PUPPY UNLESS YOU HAVE INSPECTED THE KENNEL WHERE IT WAS BORN AND PERSONALLY SELECT THE PUPPY YOURSELF!

AMONG THE MANY THINGS I USED TO DO, I BRED DOGS AND I REFUSED TO SHIP THEM ANYWHERE. I ALSO WANTED THE PEOPLE WHO WANTED TO BUY A DOG FROM ME TO COME AND CHECK OUT MY FACILITY AND SEE THE PARENTS AND SEE THE ENTIRE LITTER SO THEY COULD PICK OUT WHAT THEY WANTED. AND THEY COULD SEE THE VET RECORDS AND CALL MY VET AND SEE THAT THE PUPPIES HAD THE BASIC SHOTS --- ALL OF THEM! NOT ONLY DID YOU FAIL TO DO THIS, YOU EVEN ORDERED FROM OUT OF THE COUNTRY. IT IS THE AMERICAN KENNEL CLUB NOT THE CANADIAN KENNEL CLUB! I AM NOT GOING TO BELABOR THE OBVIOUS. WHO NEEDS PAPERS ANYWAY? HAS IT OCCURRED TO YOU THAT YOU COULD HAVE ADOPTED A PERFECTLY GOOD PUPPY FROM A LOCAL SHELTER THAT MIGHT HAVE TO BE KILLED BECAUSE THEY ARE RUNNING OUT OF ROOM TO KEEP THESE LITTLE GUYS? THEY HAVE SOME GREAT DOGS IN SHELTERS, I KNOW BECAUSE I GOT AN AKC PERFECT CONFIRMATION BOXER FROM THERE AS WELL AS TWO WONDERFUL SHEPHERD/MALINOIS DOGS AND AN ADORABLE MUTT AND TWO CHIHUAHUAS WHO WERE ON DEATH ROW. THE ONLY PAPERS THEY HAD WERE THE ONES ON THE KENNEL FLOOR. BUT ONLY A REAL DOG LOVER WOULD UNDERSTAND....SIGH

I bought three dogs from Hillsview Kennel and have nothing but good things to say about Jonathan and Marcia McNeil. The dogs were exactly as they were described to me. The McNeils were friendly and reasonable to deal with even through difficulties and delays through the banks in getting payment to them. The paperwork for two of the dogs through the CKC came within six weeks. After that, it took another few months to get the AKC registration and DNA completed. In other words, everything went perfectly but it still took about four months after the time of purchase for the AKC registration to be complete. But for one of the dogs, as sometimes happens, there was a snag. It took over a year for the CKC paperwork to reach me. In that time, Jonathan and Marcia McNeil took each phone inquiry from me, treating me with respect, and my concerns with kindness. At every turn they were true to their word. I regard them as very professional and as producers of fine German Shepherd Dogs.

My dogs were also imported (I don't reccomend this unless you KNOW you will get your dog and papers through reccommendation or personal knowledge), and it can take FOREVER to get your papers. I did get them though. After all the red tape I think it took about a year. Don't dogs have to be ALREADY registered with AKC when they are bred to register a litter? Also, because my dogs were imports, both had to be DNA tested, and those results took 2 months. THEN I was able to register my litter. Shouldn't all of this have been clear and known before those dogs were bred? And all that considered, my AKC applications still went out with my first litter.

I have also purchased a dog from Jonathan and Marcia. The paperwork can take a long time, but they are very honest people. When you purchase an imported dog you need to be patient.

All the paperwork has been recieved by the buyer and the complainer for what ever reason she has not updated this site. We worked through the registration with the CKC regulatory division the entire time. The buyer had the original AKC paperwork and all the original CMKU paperwork from the very beginnig. It is unfortunate the buyer had no patience as the CKC and I worked together. The AKC had made made mistakes prior to the finishing of the transfer and we had a house fire this all made the transfer take longer than most. But I want restate that she had all the original pedigree and registrations for the AKC and the CMKU the buyer just didn't like waiting for the us and the CKC to finish the process.
