I placed an order on September 1, 2004 for the "dutchess taylor" jacket." After 1 month, I was delivered the "barbi" jacket. I emailed immediately, and despite being a Saturday, I got a response very quickly. I was assured that I would be "contacted by a "senior sales rep" on Monday and the correct jacket would be overnighted on Monday. I was promised "We will do everything in our power to satisfy you." NONE of this has happened.

On Tuesday, October 5th, I left a message and got a return call from Mr. Sherman. He said to give him a couple of days and he would schedule a pick-up by fedex of the wrong jacket. Now, October 14th, I have heard nothing more... I sent an email yesterday threatening to report them to BBB, and after sending back the incorrect jacket on my own dime, dispute the charge with my bank. (I, LUCKILY, am still within the 30 day period to do a charge-back, and have already contacted the bank to start the process if this doesn't get resolved SOON!)

Apparently, as with many others, my phone messages and emails are being ignored. And I'm sorry it came to this. I honestly thought Mr. Sherman was a nice man and would take care if it. I'm extremely disappointed. I DO NOT want the jacket I was sent. The style is completely different that what I wanted.

MR. SHERMAN, I would love for you to JUST SEND ME the correct jacket, NOW, so I can write an update to this that you took care of my problem immediately. You replied to another complaint that "everyone is being taken care of that has a problem." I am not.

It only takes moments to call fedex and schedule the pick-up of the old one. And PLEASE! send me the "dutchess taylor" and email me with the tracking number. At that point I will stop the charge-back process with the bank.

Kathryn

p.s. I have email proof, phone records, and pictures of both jackets.

For the past two weeks, I have heard EVERYDAY, either:

1. My jacket, as well as 4 more for my family had ALREADY gone out in the mail. When they didn't arrive, he acted stunned and shocked, and could not figure out for the life of him why "his shipping department" didn't send them out.

2. It will go out tonight

3. It will go out tomorrow

4. I'm in the process of working on it, I just walked over there.

One of my last emails to him I reminded him that he promised me would PERSONALLY box up and ship THE CORRECT jacket. I told him blaming his shipping department was NO EXCUSE.

For others with the same problem, I've discovered the only way to get him to respond to emails is to keep sending him links to this site that show the growing number of complaints against him. Last week when I gave him a deadline, or I would file with the Attorney General, he sent me THE MOST apologetic, groveling email! (Funny because ALL of the other emails back to me were threats that he would report me to his "legal department" for posting on this site.) He BEGGED ME to give him a 2 more days. The two days came and went, and 3 more. so I'm done.

Oh, and don't believe the LIES he'll tell you that the others who reported him on rip-off report have already had their problem resolved. If you check their updates, you will clearly see they have NOT.

But beware, you will only get more lies and more requests to wait another day. It's up to you how long you want to wait, but my advice is to forget him and file with the Attorney General.

I did find the info on his bankruptcy that someone else posted July 26, 2004 for the amount of $548,188.87. I think since then he changed the company name from HerJust-leather.com to justleather.com

So anyway, the next correspondence Mr. Sherman is going to have regarding my jacket will be from the New Jersey Attorney General's office. I have already filed my complaint and mailed my supporting documents.

Thanks to others who provided the links to in their reports! Maybe we all should!

Sorry Mr. Sherman, the timer ran out. DING!

he claimed to have already sent out my jacket, as well as 4 more for my family/ Still, NO JACKETS, NO TRACKING NUMBER

After posting my previous comment, I got an email from Mr. Sherman. He was very upset with me that I posted comments that could not be removed, especially because he claimed to have already sent out my jacket, as well as 4 more for my family. He promised to have someone send me a tracking number that evening and told me to expect the jackets the next day, or day after.

That was Tuesday, today is Saturday.

NO JACKETS, NO TRACKING NUMBER.

It appears from other rip-off reports that we are being told the same thing.

I told Mr. Sherman before, but I'll say it again...

I would love nothing more than to get my jacket and come back to this site and tell everyone how he came through.

Mr. Sherman still holding true to his word... LIES!!!

I made a deal with Mr. Sherman. I would stop posting on this website and he would send me my jacket. Funny, because I thought paying for a product was a legal contract where the other party had to provide the product.

So anyway, I held up my end.... until today.

Over two weeks ago on Friday night, Just-Leather sent me a second jacket. Guess what!? THE WRONG ONE AGAIN!!! I don't know if he thinks I won't notice?? Or just give up and keep whatever I'm sent????? NOT ME... I DON'T GIVE UP.

So I called and left a message on his personal cell phone (screaming, threatening) and he called back in about 30 seconds. This is what he "PROMISED":

1. to keep the incorrect jacket
2. that he would personally OVERNIGHT the correct one to me on Monday
3. and he would send a jacket for each member of my family (to which I objected, but he insisted.)

I emailed him the following Tuesday and Wednesday and he replied that on Thursday he would get the box out and I would be "very very happy." Sure! Sell me a bridge in the desert! So over two weeks later, what do I have? NOTHING.

Since then I have sent him 3 more emails and have gotten absolutely no response.

I'm sure I'll get threatened with legal action again, saying I don't have 1st ammendment rights, but what gets me is that this guy doesn't put forth the effort to send out one little jacket but he will spend time, money, and effort to take legal action for something that's his fault?? I have spoken nothing but the truth and can back it up with hard evidence. He's the one making his company look bad, not me.

That Friday night, I specifically asked him if he had the right coat in stock. He said "yes, he was positive because they were fully stocked because of the upcoming holiday season."

So where is my one little dutchess taylor jacket?????

I am tired of Mr. Sherman making promises probably just to buy time. I'm done with it. I'm taking further action.

One more thing... Mr. Sherman offered me a refund until the new jacket came

I also want to add that Mr. Sherman offered me a refund until the new jacket came, at which point he would charge me again. He says this was "good faith" on his part.

I told him I'd prefer to just get the jacket and not mess with refunds and being charged again. Sometimes it can take a while for a refund to be posted to your card so I thought it would just be easier that way. It was good faith on my part to let him hold on to my money and take the wrong jacket back.

I'm CONFIDENT that this whole mess will be behind me in a matter of days.

Still Missing....

#8Author of original report

Fri, October 22, 2004

It should be obvious to anyone who reads this why Mr. Sherman hasn't bothered to write a rebuttal...

--Because everything I'm saying is 100% true!

Why would he take the wrong coat back and not send me the new one? Does he need my money that bad??? Because as I said before, he still has my money!!

By the way, it's Friday and I still have not heard ONE WORD from the man.

I don't know how he can sleep at night knowing he's doing this to people...

(Not to mention all the stress he's caused...)

Mr. Sherman, Where Are You??

#9Author of original report

Wed, October 20, 2004

Was I a fool????

Mr. Sherman promised me that two days ago the wrong coat WOULD BE picked up and the correct one would be sent-- ON MONDAY.

It is now Wedsnesday, and after UPS picked up the incorrect jacket, I AM NOW OUT THE MONEY AND A JACKET.

I have sent one email and left 3 phone messages, TWO on his private cell phone, and I have gotten NO RESPONSE.

Mr. Sherman, this seems to be the only way to get you to respond. Where is my coat????

I trusted you! Why do you keep doing this to me???

You practically threatened for me to leave a good feedback on this site or you wouldn't honor your word. I did. (see above)

I would love nothing more than to tell the millions of people that read this website that you came through for me.

You know what you need to do...

I was contacted by the owner yesterday by phone and he PROMISED to set up the pick-up of the incorrect coat AND send the right one by the end of the day Monday.

Today, (Sunday) I got an email that UPS had been contacted and will be picking up the coat.

So far so good!
