Recently, I was called by a Real Estate Agent from Keller Williams, Inc., a top Nationwide Realty Company, out of North Carolina to handle a commercial financing deal that involved a $4.5 million dollar purchase of a church. Initially when contacted by the Keller Williams Rep, Ms. Polly Brewer, we had an extensive conversation about me, and how I would be able to help her client.

Well, after that one conversation with Polly, I was given the direct contact info of the Pastor. The Pastor and I spoke, and really hit it off. I was able to find right away two lenders that would take the deal with no problem. The Pastor was happy after the first quote given. However, one, lender quoted 8.31% and the other quoted 7.5%, which the Agent was immediately notified of the second quote. Over the phone, I sound like a person of Caucasian descent; but I am African American. After speaking with the Agent the second time, I am assuming she realized I was Black and not white, which now, I strongly believe is the only reason why she gave me the number to begin with. Here is why. Ever since the last conversation between she and I, although it went well of course, because I had great news of not only one, but two pre-approvals, she has since been on overkill trying to convince the Pastor why she should not let me handle the deal. Her reasons were as follows: "Kimberly works out of her home"; "Kimberly is not part of a "real" company"; Kimberly is not able to handle a deal at an amount such as this (sign of incompetence), she only gave the Pastor the first quote of 8.31% and never mentioned the 7.5% quote, she says to the Pastor sarcastically, "there is no need for us to go all the way to California to get this done with Kimberly, you and/your husband should just forget about Kimberly and put her on the back burner! etc.

Basically, she thought of and refuted everything to the contrary of my true capabilities and prestige. First of all, not only have I been processing commercial and residential loans since 1995, I am a graduate with a Finance and Real Estate degree; second, she nor the Pastor has ever seen my office, which happens to be 3,500 sq. ft. and fully performing. The climax of this whole thing happens to be this though; I was the first Mortgage Consultant the Agent had put through to the Pastor in order to get the financing situated for the sale; but, every other person after me, that the Agent made it her business to connect the Pastor with, was white. And, guess what? The other Mortgage Consultant chosen to actually handle the deal, the Pastor later finds out is from California as well, which means she don't know how big his office is either, since it matters, right? Now, the Pastor is black, but married to a white man. Mind you, I do not know any of these people, the Agent nor the Pastor and her husband. As a matter of fact, I was contacted three times by the Pastor going back and forth about how she wants me to handle the deal, but is persistently made uncomfortable by the Agent; and, her consistent discriminatory behavior.

Pollys egregious behavior is so conspicuous to both the Pastor and her husband that, the husband, who is white, made a comment, "I don't care if Kimberly did everything right, Polly do not want to see Kimberly, a black woman, make the commission; but, she will deal with us because there is a significant benefit, which is the commission on the seller side and because I'm white".

Now, because the Pastor is under contract with the Agent already for this transaction, the Pastor in her last call to me stated, "Although I am very uncomfortable with what has been going on, I am going to finish out this transaction with her", meaning go to whom ever else the Agent has referred her to, in California that is, "but, I will certainly be sure to involve you in my next endeavor, which is happening very shortly after this one". It had been a total of three times that the Pastor said to me, "you know, I have a really good vibe about you and you seem very knowledgeable about the business and what I hope to do; I want to go with you! And, I'm going to suggest to the Agent that I am comfortable with your work ethics and would rather "stay" with you!" Every time she would say that, and be adamant about communicating that to the Agent, the Agent will make a big fuss about it and cause her to feel uncomfortable; even going as far as trying to entice her with other, quite promising deals. Therefore, she would call me back each time before her final decision, with an unexplainable change of mind and deeply saddened tone.

Should the Agent be that persistently involved in the buyer's choice for financing, No! This behavior is notably known in the real estate industry as "Redlining" and is highly prohibited. I plan to file a discrimination lawsuit and/or complaint against Keller Williams, Inc. for lossed commissions and damages due to redlining and defamation of character. Therefore, I will seek both compensatory and punitive damages for an unknown amount at this time. The D.R.E. definition of redlining is the illegal practice of not making loans in certain neighborhoods due to religious, racial, ethnic, or other social reasons. The borrower clearly indicated to me on several occasions that she would rather had worked with me; and, it is clearly her choice, but was repeatedly made uncomfortable; and, that she and her husband believed that racism is/was definitely involved, hands down! It's sad, but it is TRUE! Racism must stop!

With all the new rise of racism, such as the Jenna 6, I believe this should be discussed in person. Not to mention, while exploring the internet, I found other complaints about the Keller Williams Agents and their dishonesty. Perhaps we can become aware of others who have been discriminated against by any of the Keller Williams, Inc. entourage.

I look forward to taking this matter public and receiving justice! Talk to you soon, I hope! May God Bless!
