Complaint Review: Kimberlyn Cattery - Ohio

1st Complaint

 Against: Breeder: Kimberlyn Ferraro Cattery: Kimberlyn Address: 890 Irish Road City Kent, Ohio,44240 Phone: 330-677-2563 Complaintant: Laura Place Date: April 12, 2003 I bought two cats from Kim.She sent me pictures before I purchased them.The adult looked like it had a messed up jaw and I aksed her about it. She assured me that it was the markings that made it lookthis way. When I recieved the cats the adult did have a mislaligned jaw. I have a vet letter with proof of that. It also came with ringworm. The kitten had an extreme case of uri and extreme amounts of ringworm. Two of my children caought it and two of my cats. She will not give a refund or replacement. Its in her contract that she gets first right to take the cats back and now she doesnt want them,but will allow me to sell them but wants to know where they go,so they can sign the same contract.I purchsed the cats for breeding and she wont even replace the unbreedable one. Breeds genetically unsound stock & selling sick cats sold a cat with a misaligned jaw and teeth to me as a breeder. Sent: Sunday, April 13, 2003 2:43 PM Subject: Re: I now will need the proof To whom it may concern, Thank you for responding.I have proof from my vet that this cat should not be bred due to a misaligned jaw and misaligned teeth.I spesificaly contacted this breeder for breedable cats.I had asked her about the jaw becasue its face looked funny in a picture she sent me(I could forward that as weel) She dienied it was misaligned.I have tried to get the breeder to give me a replacement or a refund.In her contract there is a statement where if the buyer is unable or does not want to keep or take care of said cat the seller will take back at an agreed upon price,another section states about a replacement. Neither which she will do.She would take both back with out giving me nothing. I can mail you a copy of the vet letter(I already sent her a copy)and a copy of the contract. She deceitfully sent me this cat after I inquired about its problem.Both cats were also sent with upper respiratory infections and ringworm.Two of my children contracted it and two of my other cats.She told me about the kittens uri but not the adult.I have had a cat with uri before but it only had sneezing nothing else.This kitten had an extreme case of uri with thick yellow discharge form the eyes and nose. She sent me a rabies vaccine paper on a nine week old kitten. I found out it is void because in Ohio they have to be at least three months old for a rabies shot. She lied about the age she told me the kitten was 18 weeks old, when I recieved it it was tiny and the vet paper said it was nine weeks old. This woman has done nothing but lie to me and decieve me with the genetically deformed adult female, with the health of both cats and the age of the kitten.I would be so grateful if you could try to help me have this lady at least give me a replacement,because I did inquire about a (two )breedable cats.Please give me the address to which I should send my proof and contract.Thank you very much, Sincerly Laura Place, A first time persian breeder.

2nd Complaint

Against: Breeder:Kimberlyn Ferraro Cattery:Kimberlyns Address: 890 Irish Rd City Kent, Ohio 44240 Phone: 330-677-2563 Complaintant: Hollie Mallory Date: Tue, 10 Jun 2003 12:47:49 -0700 I met Kim through a mutal Friend, we soon begain talking about me taking her Dilute Calico Crystal Ice. I had taken one of my females to my friends house to be bred, so I told Kim I would just have my friend pick Ice up for me and I would get her from my friends house when I came to pick up my female since it was a 5+ hour drive. There seemed to be no problem with that arrangment, Kim told me she would have Ice vet checked before my friend came to get her which she never did. Also Kim informed me that Ice had been bred to her chocolate CPC boy which she wasn't suppose to be bred, so we agreed that I would be responsible for all shots and heatlh checks for the kittens. After getting her home I noticed her breathing sounded funny so I took her to the vet only to be told she had a URI and earmites, I informed the breeder of this and she did nothing but make excuses as to why this could be and blamed it all on the stress of the drive and being pregnant. 2 days after I had her home I noticed a big bald spot on her back and again informed the breeder that she had ringworm and that I had already spent money on getting her earmite and URI medicine that I never agreed to and that this was just going to not only cost me more money but put all my other cats at risk along with other babies I was expecting, her responce was that I didn't have to take her and if I didn't want her then I needed to drive another 5 hours one way to bring her back, I informed her that I did want her however I felt as if she should pay me for all the medications I had to buy for this cat since she didn't disclose to me all these aliments. Because of this 2 of my other cats have since gotten ringworm, one of which was pregnant when she got it and now because of that one of the babies has ringworm and I can't even treat him for it since he is only 2 weeks old. I have gone back and forth with this breeder, letting her know that I have since learned I am not the only person she has sold or given sick kittys to and I would not be taken advantage of. Finally she agreed she would send me the registration papers for the female and a litter registration form for the kittens with all information filled in by her and that should cover all my vet cost, which she did do, however I do not believe her when she says she is going to stop breeding therefor I want her listed so others can be informed of her backyard breeding style. I will send Vet papers once my vet has them ready for me and e-mail conversations as soon as I can get them to forward. 6/10/03 This seller does not respond in a reply, therefore a letter was sent directly to her home by us snail mail.
