I bought a used Ford Focus from John Koons III Mazda in Marlow Heights, MD on October 04, 2003. My credit is not in the greatest condition so I was financed through their in-house program. My interest rate was 24% and my payments were $410.76 a month. the car is worth about $5,000, I bought for $9,400 and by the end of my 36 month term I would have paid over $15,000.00.

When I first got the car I was excited because I was financed. I drove the car for a few weeks when I noticed a liitle vibration in the car when I drove over fifty and up inclines (esp. hills), the tires squeked upon stopping, when I had to cut the wheel all the way left or right it made a popping sound, and it sounding like my engine was churning butter when I drove.

So I took it to the local mechanic at the gas station at the corner. The mechanic changed my oil, adjusted and cleaned my brakes, and rotated my tires. I payed them $117.00 for that and the problems continued. So 1 week later I took the car and at no charge he rotated the tires again and said all 4 of my tires were bad. That information upset me because my tires looked good so I decided to take it to the source where I purchased the car.

I went to the mechanics at John Koons they put me in a rental now for 2 days they (tried) to fix my car. When I got the car back the mechanic said that the fuel pump was so bad that they had to replace it then he said you do know you have to pay $100.00 for your warranty fee. I said okay I paid the money and took my car.

Soon as I got off the lot and back on to the beltway it started to vibrate again so I called them and took the car right back. I went into the autobody a little upset. They acted like they were so suprised that it was not fixed. One of the mechanic drove my car and said it seems like you got fix-a-flat in your right tire.

One of the representatives of the autobody said that I only stated that the car vibrated at forty so the mechanic said he only drove to forty and it didn't vibrate so he figured the problem was fixed. Once again he told me to bring the car back on Monday and again they would put me in a rental so once again I did and come to find out my right axle was bad. When I came to pick my car I had talked to my lawyer and they can not charge me because they have to give a lasting repair.

It was no charge for all the work that they had done THANK GOD!!! A few days later it rained now there is an overwheling puddle of water leaking into the passenger side floor of the car, it still churns, and there is a rattling sound coming from the car when I drive it. Now I went to talk to someone about the problems and how all of this should have been taken care of before i bought it and they say well we can put you in a new car for a $3,000.00 down payment. I spoke with the general manager he offered to fix it, but I have already had it fixed 4 times how many chances di=o you need.

The car is not safe and I told them I no longer wanted to drive nor be responsible for operating an unsafe vehicle with my 1 year old or just myself in this car. I returned the car and got another one from another dealership who financed me with no down payment just my tags and title. I returned the car on Feb. 10, 2004 and on Feb. 12, 2004 Koons called me to tell me I have been financed for a new car with the same company that financed me for the truck I bought Monday.

I spoke with the manager to give him the reason why I want no dealings with the car or his company and that I wanted to be released from my contract because the car was in bad condition when I bought it and he just said your going to mess up your credit now its going to show as a reposession and I said that fine because I am filing a consumer complaint against you and your company.
