Stayed here over the Memorial Day weekend, upon checking out I realized I was missing my phone charger which I felt plugged in the wall. Only an hour had passed so I called the front desk and Terry the front desk clerk answered the phone. I asked him if anyone had checked into the room yet in which he told me "no, they haven't booked anyone into that room. I then asked if the room had been cleaned which it had, I asked him if a phone charger was turned in as I had left mine plugged into the wall in the room . He informed me that no, the cleaning staff did not turn in a charger.


 


I politely asked if he could personally go up check the room I was in. This is when the attitude started. He stated he was too busy at that time to personally check and that I probably misplaced it, I told him I only brought in my briefcase and saw the charger in the wall an hour before I checked out, he finally agreed get someone who would check; so I left my number and over an hour passed and I didn’t receive a call. Finally I called back and Terry said he sent someone to look for the charger and they found none. Terry told me I must have misplaced it once again, which is impossible and again I informed him it was plugged into the wall an hour before I checked out.


 


The bottom line here is I travel on business to Austin area every two week and this was my favorite hotel, but no more. I can never stay in a hotel where the staff are thieves. To top it off Terry the front desk clerk was very rude and condescending towards me. He simply didn’t care one way or another about me or the theft of my belongings, only wanting to argue with me. This is very poor customer service and he should be reprimanded for such behavior towards a guest. He never offered to let me speak to a manger about the issue. When I informed him I would like to contact the manager his sarcastic reply was “well, you got to do what you got to do” This is NOT what you say to a guest of your hotel, very unprofessional.




I travel on business over 75 days a year and never have I had something stolen from me. On the rare occasion I leave something behind, the staff are always kind enough to return to me. This La Quinta location have thieves working for them. Terry knows this; Albert the manager knows this, but refuses to do anything about it. This La Quinta has lost my business for good and I do not recommend anyone staying here. My company will no longer use this La Quinta location, as well as family and friends. One of the cleaning staff took my belongings and this La Quinta refuses to do a thing about it. I plan on contacting corporate to further this issue.
