I have a '94 Camry and last week brought it in for an oil change at my very honest mechanic. I told him about this site, and all the reports on sludge. He told me that if you look in the owners manual it states oil changes are to be done at 7,500 miles. "THAT IS TOO LONG!", he said. Toyota says this to create the illusion that the car is more maintenance-free than it really is. He said the oil should be changed at 3,000 - 4,000 miles, and this is why many people are blowing their motors.
