a quote from one of the bosses, "I don't screw over my drivers, other owners will run a driver and not pay them, then when the driver quits, the owner just hires new drivers". And that is how it is done in the trucking industry. Last Chance Logistics leases trucks to Panther II. Last chance Logistics owes this team over $1500.00 for the last 6 pros ran. plus we were shorted on previous pay of over $300.00. My wife was taken off the truck due to medical reasons and this company refuses to pay us for the last 6 runs we made. They also made an error on the 1099 tax form--listing more money than we even made, and next year will list the $1500.00 as well. Jackson Hewitt prepared our taxes for 2005 and tried to contact the owners of this business to no avail. These people will not return our phone calls or letters. And no explanation to why they will not pay us. Panther II is of no help, because the truck owner is responsible for paying us. Well, the truck owner works in the payroll/settlement dept. of Panther II. We will never see this money. However, the IRS was very interested in our situation and the 1099. Guess this company will be audited in the near future.
