I am compelled to file this report due to the extremely serious nature of the loss of my mobile home and all my possesions. According to the Fire Marshal it is believed that a flash fire explosion was allegedly caused by the above described  all in one, inkjet printer on June 25th, 2014.

I had gone to have breakfast at my brothers home apprx 3/4 of a mile away. In the middle of our breakfast my brother rec'd a concerened call from a goof friend who drove past my place on Seven Devils Road, Banner Elk, NC 28604. She was excitedly asking my brother if I was ok.  She said  "your brothers home is on fire and 4 huge fire trucks were at the scene and 2 Medic vehicles.

My brother and I raced down hill and there it was, jet black smoke pouring out of structure, firemen on roof putting out burning rafters. The medics were trying to recesatate my 9 yr old cat who was trapped in the structure. The firemen did not want me to do anything but immediately take "Gracie" to Blue Ridge Vet Clinic where she was put on life support for 3 days. (thank God she did survive at a cost of $800. I zm 76, USAF Vet disabled with ptsd issues of whick I can now add the horror show of what was once my home, all my life posessions ruined.

We returned to the fire scene and the crew had prevented a forrest fire and assured noting was burning in the home. The fire marshal came up to me and said "I think I have located the cause of the fire. Hand over nose we went to the fron door and he pointed to the molten charred mass of what was once my Lexmark Printer! I was warned that the soot flickering around was filled with toxic printer ink which, apparently is also flamable.. We then went back to the yard area and both my brpother and I filled ot "witness reports" also the owner of this leased home was filling out her form.

This was and is a hideous experience for anyopne to incur. Now I am, essentially, homeless, living on meager SSA   and a bit of help from Holy Cross Episcopal Church, where I attend every Sunday. I will give some credit to Neill Kahle, attorney at Lexmark, who was very empathatioc. He called Travelers Ins of Hartford, CT Product Liability dept. Unfortunately as I write this Travelers Prouct Inspection dept could not even come out to the scene until JULY 22nd.  This gives me to be fearful as generally Ins companies always look for "other" causes. They will only find one "cause",  the remains (not very much) of the printer and no doubt will decide it has to go to a professional "analyst", problem with that is there is not much remains and no doubt will seek to balame other possible fire sources. There is none, but that is my cross to bare. At my age any settlement, if any may not come in my remaining lifespan.

I write this to Rip Off  . Any of my "future" plans are now at bay. I am, however, very concerned that there may be other exploding Lexmark inkjets printers out there, on "standby" that might take soeones life of cauise unbearable injury. I pray not but, in fact, it is possible.

If you have had any type fire caused by a Lexmark product it will be helpfull as you might imagine. PLEASE consider e mailing me at (((redacted))) and share your experience with me. May God bless you with all of my aching heatr.
