Look at his address in the response,.. New Zealand?!?!? That should tell you right their. Or maybe he just made a ten digit typo, and what he really meant was Laverne California, or was it Chula Vista, or Chino, wait maybe it's a new address again. He says he has sold since 2003, and in that time he has had several addresses listed. Not only that he has many websites that mirror Motorcycles-Wholesale, and send you to the same site. He has more Physical addresses and Websites, than any legitimate business owner should. Further more he advises everyone that complains, that this is isolated. Try this,.. go to google, type in "Gordon Whittet" or " gordon whittet, new zealand" and you will be met with hundreds of websites that contain negative experiences about Gordon and his many Websites. He is a fraud, and does not sell what he says he does. A multitude of individuals have had the same experience. Do not be led astray by his responces that tell you this is a one time deal. Not so. The short version of the story is this. I paid Gordon Whittet for the motorcycle described on his website, as well as a 3 yr Warranty. When it arrived, though it looked like the motorcycle described, It was completely different. He lied about every feature of the bike, and said I would have to pay for shipping to return it. I was upset that it was a bait an switch, but apparently had no options. So I kept it thinking, that if anything goes wrong with it, at least I have a 3 yr Bumper to Bumper Warranty to cover it. Gordon does not stand behind his warranty. I purchaced a motorcycle from him In December, and have had nothing but problems with both him, and the bike. He assures me that my case is isolated, but type in his name into any search engine and you will find volumes of info about people who have been upset by this man and his business practices. It was a 2007 Lifan GRX 200. It took nearly 2.5 months for him to finally send it out. On top of that, his website is full of lies. He said it had an aluminum frame,.. it doesn't, he said it had a rear disk brake, it doesn't. Worst of all he said it has a three year "bumper to bumper Warranty". It most certainly does not. I have put just over 2000 miles on my Motorcycle. The front and rear wheel bearings are going south, there is play in the sprocket hub, Small oil leak comming from the transmission just below the shift linkage, and there is Rust in the gas tank. This bike has been babied, and taken care of. Never ridden in the rain,.. always used premium gas, etc... At the time of shippment I asked him to send me a copy of the warranty, he never did. I emailed a few weeks later and asked about the warranty, he sent a quick email that basically stated the engine is covered and that's it. He refuses to provide a written warranty, though it is stated as a bumper to bumper warranty on his site. Of all these things what does Gordon's warranty cover? Nothing, not a thing! He advises this is all normal wear and tear and not covered by warranty. I could understand if this were a very old bike that was abused, but this bike has been taken care of, and is only 2000 miles old?!?!?!? I have owned several older Japanese sportbikes with 20 to 30,000 miles on them, and none had any of these issues. Gordon assures me that all other people have no issues with their Lifans, and do not have these problems. Yet for a bike so plagued with problems that are apparenlty out of the ordinary,... Why is nothing covered by warranty? To add to the frustration, Gordon says I can order the replacement parts through him. Now on his website, it states that anyone who buys his motorcycles gets a 50% discount on parts bought through his site. Although in the Email, he advised that I should go to Rabbitscooters.com, then deduct 30% off thier prices, and get back to him with my order. There is not one detail published on his site that is legitimate. He will not stand behind any of it. Several people have suggested that the motorcycles Gordon sells are copies, and not Lifan Motorcycles. This could be true. American Lifan does not back him up. Either way he is a horrible businessman, a Liar, and a thief. I can't get a written warranty or address from the guy. He just copies over an email with sparse details that cover very little. Furthermore, He ships 3rd party through Rabbitscooters.com, so we get their address instead of his. Upon calling Rabbit scooters, they will tell you he is not affiliated, nor can they help you with any of his dealings. Shame on you Gordon. Or shame on Me for dealing with you without researching you and your company. To others,.. please do some research. I have no doubt you will have no desire to do business with this man once you have done your research. Buy a Ninja 250 instead. Used they are about 1200 dollars with a few thousand miles on them, have a 14,000 RPM redline, and can be serviced or get parts through any Kawasaki Dealer. Furthermore you will be more respected by bikers in general that you bought from Japan instead of china. Don't be fooled by the price tag. Quality Japanese bikes can be had for the same.
