Worst pool I have ever swam in over a 40 year period. Chemical balance is always screwed up for the indoor 25 meter lap pool. There have been times that there has been so much chlorine, my skin would burn and itch after just fifteen minutes.

Many times I find bandaides and gum in the pool and along the deck for several weeks. Skimmers are rarely cleaned. There of masses of hair, bandaides and even roles of tape in the skimmers. Operations people appear to be inept at maintaining cleaniness, chemical balance and constant pool temperature.

The chlorine fumes are strong enough to rust the overhead sprinkler pipes and other exposed non-galvanized metal. This is because the indoor pool is not only over chlorinated, LT also has two hot tubs and a dry sauna right next to the pool causing the air to become very moist and hot. Consequently, when doing a hard swim workout, it is hard to breath at first. LT has no venting system for the indoor pool area....piss poor design.

The outdoor 25 meter pool could be a good competive pool for swim meets because it meets all regulations. However, once again, when it is opened, its clarity is no more than two feet in mid-summer. LifeTime refuses to purchase an aerator to keep the pool water cooled down. Consequently, the pool temperature gets up to 86 degrees allowing bacterial growth even more. For competitve swimming workouts, this temperature is rediculous. Also, LT guards never make people take showers before entering. So, people who worked out upstairs and covered with sweat, jump in the pool constantly.

On several occasions, I have found feces in the indoor pool's bottom and smeared on the wall in the indoor pool's restroom. It took three weeks for them to finally clean the wall.

I have sent messages and talked in person with the General Manager. He seems to do nothing and doesn't understand pool maintenance, or, care. He has never responded back to any complaint card or phone messages in the four years I have been a member.

I have saved a total of four kids from drowning now who jumped in the pool and went straight to the bottom because no parents and guards were around. This has been reported to LT staff on each instance. The LT in South Austin has already had a drowning/death this summer due to bad guarding and bad guard training.

Enough is enough, I have terminated my membership and found a better pool a little further away. I think the biggest problem at LT is its GM and his un-trained pool staff all of who don't give a d**n. Corporate in Minnesota needs to do some clean up of the Austin 620 facility.
