I am a tutor for Club Z! tutoring and I love it. In the case of the altered time sheets, I believe its very possible it could happen. But I know in the office I work through they tell all clients DO NOT SIGN any incomplete timesheets. That is how the office determines how much time the tutor spent with the client. I know of several tutors who were released for falsifying their timesheets, if a client has an issue with hours they should speak to the office administrator to get it resolved. Yes, in some cases cancellations are still charged to the client, but not always. As long as client contacts the tutor and the office with sufficient time, they will not be charged. I have never charged a sick client or a client who had to go out of town, or just had something going on that day, as long as I had sufficient notice. I would just reschedule them. When I do charge for a missed session (Last second cancellations), WE (myself and the office) let the client know they are being charged for the hours being missed. And Yes Club Z! does pay me for the length of the session, unlike the previous comment. They do NOT keep all the money.
Just a reminder for parents....... Do Not blame the tutor for your child failing. A couple hours a week is not going to transform a kid. We're here to help guide your student and help them develop good study habits. This needs to be reinforced at home.

I have been an employee of club z tutoring for around 4 months. During just about every interaction I have had with the owners of the franchise in my area, I have been treated rudely. A few of the unfair policies that are in the company policies:
1. When clients cancel, the franchise owners keep all money (it is all prepaid); leaving tutors with nothing. This means that should clients cancel often, tutors are essentially guaranteed nothing.
2. They bill clients monthly, and hold them to their agreed sessions regardless of circumstances. Lets say a student gets swine flu, and stops going to school. His/her parents must pay for all the tutoring sessions agreed upon (I am fairly certain the couple that owns the club z in my area would show no remorse.) Again, the tutor gets nothing.
In conclusion my claim is that the company adheres to an unfair business model. I am astonished at the amount of business thy seem to be getting. They charge $45 an hour, and pay their tutors $18.
