I paid a car off from Lobel in May of 06 and shortly after, sold the car. they sent me a letter that said thank you and your car is paid off in full. they also sent a small refund check because as usual, I over paid. A year later, I found out that the new owners CAN NOT reigister, due to the title never being issued and being withheld! I call them and they tell me that I owe the FULL loan amount and that I am harboring the vehicle. um. well they reported to the credit bureau that it was paid off in May of 06 and the same month ILLEGALLY reopened a different loan for the same amount and now I have to report a deregetory statment on my credit. it sux!

If this "John" really has been threatening to hurt you physically as you claim, then you need to call the police IMMEDIATELY and file a report. By threaning to hurt you physically, he is comitting a crime, and is subject to arrest and criminal prosecution! I would also tape record all future telephone calls from this guy (or anyone else from Lobel Financial Of Anaheim) in order to prove your claim that he is threatening you with violence.
