Let me start by saying that I had no idea that this wall was still unfinished. The last conversation I had with this customer he told me that he had someone coming over the next day to finish the job. I did have a terrible nose bleed that entire week due to the extream heat which was about 100 degree's. The two day's that I worked at this property I was able to complete the block wall and finish a section of stone on the wall which was a little more than half of the job. Close to the end of work on the second day, I had an uncontrollable nose bleed while the customer watched and asked if I were ok, to which I replied that I'd had nose bleeds since I was a child. I was embarrassed and it seemed unprofessinal on my behalf, so the very next day I called the only other stone mason in that area that was available to finish the job. The stone mason ensured me that he would be at this property @7:30am the following day, but did not show up. For the next three days I tried to get this stone mason out to this job, but I was unable. Finally after about a week, the homeowner calls me and says he can't wait any longer and he had another stone mason coming over the next day to complete the work. I appologized several times for not being able to finish the job and for the other mason not showing up, the homeowner said no problem and that was the end of the conversation. I have been in this business for 15yrs. and have handled hundreds of thousands of customer dollars with not a single complaint, why would I jeopardize my good reputation and years of hard work for $600 dollars... I am truly sorry that this matter got this far, and if by the time you read this rebuttal and the wall is still incomplete, just call me and I will finish it for you no hard feeling...
