I wish I had read about Louis Pools of Frisco before I let them work on my pool. He did the same thing to me. He kept saying "Trust Me, I'm local, I'm not going anywhere." We did over $18,000 worth of updates and fixes to our pool and he really messed things up.
We had a superficial crack in the pool that he swore would not be there anymore after we had it replastered. He said he had the plaster guy look at it before the water was emptied and the fix was no problem. After it was replastered and the crack reappearred I called the plaster guy and he said he didn't see the pool with water in it. Mike then said that he would come back and fill the crack. I told him I didn't want crack filled and that would be like paying for your car to be repainted and someone using a paintpen on the scratch. He said too bad. I told him that I wanted it redone and he refused.
He also told us to put in an in-chlorinator by the pump to help control algea. So we did. The plumber that he used installed it incorrectly and it was rotting the backflush valve. We replaced it 4 times in less than 3 months. He told us that we were wrong even though we looked up the installation guide and it shows that he did it wrong. So we had another pool guy come an remove it at a cost to us of over $400.00. It cost that much because it also caused our booster pump seal to be eaten away and had to be fixed.
All of the decking that he poured for us cracked.
The new coping he installed has cracks.
He also was paid to fix our pavestone walkway. The guys that showed up had no tools except shovels. They didn't compact the ground or vibrate sand in between the re-laid bricks. I told him this when it was done so they came out and used a broom to put sand on top. After the first rain it started to fall apart again. He kept saying he was going to fix it but never did.
When he visited my house to see all of the damage he kept telling me that the pool looked great except I didn't have enough water in my pool. Everytime I tried to get him to commit to me about getting everything fixed he kept yelling at me about the water level. Then he left.
Later he sent me an email saying he wasn't going to fix anything because I didn't have an automatic sprinkler system in my yard. WHAT?!? He never said anything about that when he took my money. I water my lawn by hand and have the greenest lawn in the neighborhood.
He finished the work in May 2011 and I still have the crack in my pool as well as a new one from his plaster job.
I think we need to consider a joint lawsuit.

That is very strange. Mike recently built my pool and he not only did he give us everything he promised but so much more. Having working with Mike directly, all I can say is there has to be more to this story. With my personal experience, not only is Louis Pools of Frisco the best deal in town, they deliver and wow your socks off!
