I entered Lowe's at 12:45 PM with the purpose of purchasing 2 five gal. buckets of paint.

I waited at the paint counter for twenty minutes waiting for the clerk to look up and acknowledge me. He was with another customer, but this does not excuse his not even looking up to see if there were any other customers in his Dept. I FINALLY was acknowleged with "I'll be with you in a minute". That MINUTE lasted another ten.

When he was available to help me he took his own sweet time going down the aisle and picking up the paint. He had to mix the colors for me. He managed to put the flat formula into the semi-gloss bucket and vice-versa.

When checking out, I asked the clerk to call for a loader for me.

I then had to wait an additional five minutes for the loader to come to the front of the store.

Let me add that the store maybe had all of 30 customers in it while I was there for 45 MINUTES.

Want paint? Go to a paintstore! Want lumber? Go to a lumberyard or dealer. NOT a homecenter. Hedgecock's here in Lexington NC is a good choice. Want electrical? Go to an electrical supplyhouse! (Lowes sells 2nds) Want plumbing? GO TO A PLUMBING "ONLY" SUPPLYHOUSE!!! (I'm a plumber. I can say this.) The point is, if you want real SERVICE, QUALITY, and price; GO TO A STORE DEALING WITH THAT PARTICULAR ITEM!!! If you go to a homecenter for an item, you'll probably come out with an "el-cheapo" item. Stores that specialize in a particular item have their reputation on the line. Lowes is a MONSTER! They don't need positive feedback. Selling low quality items, and having slow, unmotivated employees is all part of the retail experience. Their employees (I've known many) are disposable, and they treat them that way. Why would they be concerned about your wait?? Ever wandered why most professionals avoid these places??? It's because when your reputation is on the line you can't afford to mess up at a home center! You get what you pay for. From a plumber's point of view, the faucets there are garbage. The Delta are the only decent ones, and even they are a retail line that fails in quality to those sold at local plumbing supply houses. Monster stores can't specialize in anything and Lowes here in Lexington NC is definately no exception.

Forty-five minutes to wait your turn, place your order for 10 gals to be tinted, have the clerk mess up and correct it and pay for it at the checkout.......not bad I'd say.
