Mac Haik Chevrolet False Advertising on Internet Sales Houston Texas
We searched the internet for a truck and found a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado that was red with running boards and was exactly what we were looking for.
We called ahead to make sure it was still available and the internet sales manager said it was still there. We told him we were coming to look at it and it would take about 30 minutes.
When we got there 30 minutes later, they had to go pull it and we waited 15 minutes for them to bring it up and then they said they had to put gas in it. When we looked at the truck it was gray, no running boards and looked nothing like the truck advertised.
We talked to the manager and he said that is what all dealerships do. When they take a vehicle into inventory, a "stock" photo is loaded and we should have looked closer to notice it wasnt the right model in the picture. I told him it was false advertising because you dont have what you represented online. He said we should have realized if there was only one picture, it is just a stock photo. I said really, because you have other autos for sale that say "Photo coming" so why not do that for all autos? He didnt have an answer for that.
It seems like to me it is a sales gimmick to get you in the door and try to sell you something different and false advertising when you dont have what you are advertising.
