So I am Mark Ford and I owned the Money Saver Magazine when this report was written.
First, let me say it is unfortunate that "Rc" had a bad experience with
my former competitor.
What is even more unfortunate though is that Rc's didn't do the necessary due diligence to confirm that the person he/she was writing a report about - was the actual owner of the magazine he was angry with.
I assume what happened is "Rc" did a Google search for a Simi Valley Magazine (or something like that) and came up with MY magazine and my information (his and mine had similar names at one time) and then "Rc" ASSUMED that I was the person you had a bad experience with.
This is also most likely because my competitor had been sued so many times he maintained his anonymity by having no web presence, was not a member of the chamber, etc. etc.
So begins your report - Inserting my name, the name of my magazine, and the circulation areas I went to and even areas I was gong to expand too. Then prefaced my information in front of your hate statement you wrote about my competitor.
In conclusion, This report really had no effect on my former business. Although I don't publish my magazine anymore I still wanted to write this to "Rc".
"Rc" Next time you feel such hatred for someone that you want to write a hateful vitriolic report about HIS business.
DON'T DO HIM A FAVOR AND TORCH HIS INNOCENT COMPETITOR!!!
Spend a little time and verify the name you found in Google... is ACTUALLY the guy your mad at.
PS: Your description of him was, in fact, spot on... But you left out that he is a major narcissist with a Neapolitan complex. :-)

Hello,
This post was brought to my attention back in 2008 by a friend and client... and has again been brought to my attention today... so I thought I would write a quick response.
I have been publishing for several years in Simi Valley; starting with the Simi Valley Sun Newspaper back in 2004. Since then I have printed and published over 3 million Magazines in six different cities and have done business with hundreds of clients. This is the ONLY derogatory thing I, my clients and friends have ever found about my magazine or myself in all that time... an anonymous, and, if you know me, a very inaccurate depiction of how I do business.
Points showing this is mistakenly aimed at the wrong publisher:
1) (The post says) DEBUNKED SUNNY SAVERS MAGAZINE IN WHICH HE STARTED ORGINALLY & MOST RECENTLY ("FEB 2008") WAS FORCED TO CHANGE THE NAME TO MONEY SAVERS
My magazine was called Sunny Savings (a supplement of the Sun Newspaper) I did change the name to The Money Saver for 2 main reasons.
A) I felt that the Money Saver was a better name then Sunny Savings (especially because I was no longer publishing the Sun Newspaper)
And B) There was another magazine published in Simi Valley named The Savings Magazine a name extremely close to the The Sunny Savings Magazine and people were getting the two confused. (As apparently was done here)
If you were looking for information on the Savings Magazine (AGAIN not mine) and typed that into Google you would have gotten my information. In the heat of anger at this other publisher, I assume, the person who wrote this post embellished a bit after seeing the name of the magazine they thought was the Savings Magazine had been changed" and added this Debunked theory to the post.
2) (The post says) CONFIRMATION HAS PROVED THAT HE DOES NOT PAY FOR THE ZIPS AND SHORTENS HIS MAILING
This does not describe Money Saver because
I have on record EVERY 3206 form (Proof of Postage) and ALWAYS keep several copies with me. Those copied come with a comprehensive, signed cover sheet for any of my clients to review. (A policy I have followed from day one)
3) (The post says) ANOTHER 3 MONTHS OF ADS AND GOES TO PRINT AND FORCES THE INVOICE AND ARGUES TO THE POINT
This does not describe Money Saver because
I have ALWAYS made it a practice to collect in advance BEFORE I go to print with a magazine... Although with good, long time, clients I have been known to let them slide ONE month, occasionally, BUT I STILL get a proof sheet or verbal/email confirmation EVERY MONTH. I think it is CRAZY and bad business practice not to do that (Especially in this unstable economy)
I believe that this is a misunderstanding made by an advertiser about a different publisher...
I believe that someone may have had this complaint about the Savings Magazine and Goggled Savings Magazine - Simi Valley. and VOILA you would have got MY Web Site for The Sunny Savings Magazine.
After getting the basic information from my web site...(MY name, MY address, MY Phone, MY circulation, MY Cities published ALL THE TIME THINKING HE WAS COLLECTIING DATA ON THE OTHER MAGAZINE OWNER)
ALSO The description of billing and invoicing describes to the T how the owner of "The Savings Magazine" operated (NOT to insinuate he did anything else that was alleged) (Its just his policy to run ads for months on end and then invoice his clients)
At this time they would have mistakenly assumed I was the person they wanted to report.
So... In conclusion this doesnt describe me or how I do business.
PS. If the person who posted this legitimately has a beef with the publisher that you believe did these things to you.... PLEASE perform a little more Due Diligence and you will find you have directed this at the wrong publisher.
(Mistakenly hurting me... Only helps him)
Thanks

I am not sure what motivates someone like rc to try and discredit SaverMag.com here at ripoffreport.com, but I have to disagree with user rc regarding Mark Ford and Sunny Savings / Money $aver Magazine. I personally know for a fact that Mark Ford did surely publish and send advertising to all zip codes. I know because I have seen the proof of postage receipts. Mark Ford also has all copies of his successful magazines for your perusal. The name change was about marketing strategy and focus. Gerry Doherty, Simi Valley
