On May 4, 2018, I was looking for Kooks long tube headers for my Dodge Challenger and had the misfortune of coming across Maryland Speed's website.  They had the best price I had seen in my search, and never having been ripped off online before, I didn't give a thought before placing my order. 

A few days later, someone mention to someone else on a forum to never order from Maryland Speed, so I looked into it and found that they had some issues with slow delivery but usually it was resolved, so I didn't think too much of it then either.  Their website had said it would take 3-5 weeks, which was longer than I would have liked but still OK.  After six weeks, I contacted them and they said they would have an answer within a week. 

At that point I did a lot of research into them and noticed that the problems with them started around 2015, and orders placed in 2016 were slow but did eventually arrive, but 2017 orders were still unresolved.  I also found that Kooks themselves posted a notice in November 2017 saying they were no longer affiliated with Maryland Speed.  So at this point I'm beginning to lose hope.  Another thing I read from those who were also ripped off was that MS would offer a big discount (which I did get - $200), but along with that was a contractual agreement that the sale was final and no recourse was available.

So now it looks like I'm really screwed.  In the meantime I placed an order with a different company and got the headers within 5 days.  At this point I figure if I ever do get the MS headers, I can at least try to sell them and recoup some of my money. 

However, even that is looking unlikely.  Just today, August 24, 2018, I went on their site and was greeted in their chat box by Tyler G., and proceeded to ask about the same headers.  He said the wait time would be 3-5 weeks, so they're still holding to that party line.  He got to the point of offering a discount and I started to type that I had actually ordered a set back in May and was wondering what happened, and before I could send it, he closed the chat box.  Apparently chat boxes do give the seller a way to see what's being typed before it's sent so that the salesperson can form an answer quicker.  Or close it when being called out as scumbag ripoff artists.

Which is actually the worst part to me - bad enough that I got ripped off almost $1,000 but obviously they're STILL in business ripping off people now.  Wish there was some way to put them out of business permanently but apparently they've managed to avoid that.
