I'm a manager at a mcdonalds and I agree with the OP 100% price changes are made by the owner or general manager. there is NO EXCUSE for prices not being changed on the menu board. we know about price changes ahead of time and at my store if its breakfast price changes prices are changed the previous day after breakfast is over so prices will not affect customers untill the next day. for lunch price changes they are changed during breakfast hours before we start serving lunch. but we all make mistakes and if a customer says the menu shows a lower price than is on the registers I will check the menu board...( and yes if it drive thru I will walk to that menu to check...thats what I'm paid for) but if prices are wrong I will charge them what is showing on the menu!!! the manager at the mcdonalds you visited should have been more professional and its not your fault they didn't do there jobs and change prices.

Sometimes the prices change because of minimum wage increasing, or the store manager changes the prices, but come on... it's just a few dollars, it isn't going to make you go broke. With all of the confusion of trying to get meals to their customers, we can't really take the time and change the signs.

They ARE allowed to change their prices and usually its corp who decides. If the mcd's hadn't gotten the correct advertising from corp, it is not their fault and there's not much that can be done. I am sorry to hear that though.
