Tell us has your experience with this business or person been good? What's this?
MCI and the Prison facilities in California, has managed a way of over charging families of incarcerated individuals. Collect calls made from the prisons are charged ridiculous rates for 15 minutes of time, which includes interruptions by the prison facility at least 5 times during the call, taking up at least a total of 3 minutes. Many of us experience disconnetion of our calls after about 5 minutes, causing our loved ones to attempt another call which then restarts the charges. Charges has ranged at about $7.50 for 15 minutes (so called). We have learned that MCI has a contract with the Correctional Institutions that allows the prisons a cut of the monies made.

how mci treats imates families is shameful! its is hard enough for us to make it on our own without our husband or finacees with us as it is. i should know. i am trying to raise three children clear on the other side of america practically on my own. we cannot even save up money to go visit because i have to save up every single spare penny, when there is one to keep the phone on. but mci turns people's hard times and grief into a profit. this is just sick! and the most discusting part, when i call to ask a question about how much i have accumulated so far in collect calls from my fiancee, it never fails, they try to give me a sales pitch about switching my phone service to mci! like i want to give these crooks more of my money! families should be allowd to send inmates prepaid phone cards to use from the company of our choice. thank you!
