MCI The Neighborhood Plan ripoff deceptive company Iowa City Internet
I was offered a wonderful package deal from MCI last year and was told to make a deposit to have the services started up.
I was impressed with the services within the first 3 months. After the 4th month, I ended up paying over and beyond what my normal calling plan would have been like with my local phone company.
I had requested on Jan 21, 2003 to stop my services effective on that date. I was told that they could not do that and had to wait until two weeks out to stop the services (which was my next billing cycle) and that was going show my stop date and be pro/retro rated for the services.
I had paid all of my bills to date and was still receiving bills even after the last payment made to my account. I had faxed over all the necessary paper work to get a "deposit" refunded to my account and/or use the "deposit" on whatever remaining needed to close the account. I had suggested that they "better" explain the "deposit" to new customers so they don't go through the same problems of losing their customers as they did with me.
