MCI - The Neighborhood ripoff - false advertising. I received the "Neighborhood" special for $39.99 mo. unlimited long distance/local Monthy bill was ALWAYS up to $70.00+ mo. Phoenix Arizona
I left my previous phone company for what I thought was this awesome, too good to be true deal with MCI. "The Neighborhood" special I got was for $39.99 mo. unlimited long distance/local calls monthy. For a little over a year my phone bill was always between $65.00-$80.00 a month.
My phone bill every month had at least 8 - 18 "Local Directory Assistance" calls. They charge $.95 each call. I asked, how can these charges be so consistant each month for a whole year? I did not use the 411 operator due to the fact I am aware of how much they charge. They did refund me some $$ for something else but insists that my bill is legit. I asked for the 411 calls to be printed on my bill like all the other calls are and they said they can't do that. I also asked to block the 411 service and they informed me they could not do that either.
Something is fishy and I sure hope we all get to the bottom of it. I haven't had long distance service for a couple of months due to a few payments behind. MCI blocked it and is still charging me the full amount of $39.99 a month for long distance and I can't even call long distance. I can't even call a few miles from my home.
My monthy bill was originally suppose to be around $50.00 or less a month. Instead, I got a phone bill of around $75.00 and up a month. A Big difference from what they advertise. They are rip- offs and that's too bad because I thought they had a very nice and polite customer service department.
