I enrolled as a Preferred Customer and a marketing executive through Melaleuca. I joined over the internet, electronically signing everything online so as not to go through any paperwork.

When trying to cancel my membership, I sent letters through postal mail and also emailed them a few times, as well as calling them. They state that to cancel you must send a letter through the mail or fax them something saying you want to cancel.

How conveniently for them that they say they never received my letters. The catch is that every month you must place a 45 dollar or more order to stay a marketing exec. or a preferred customer. So if a customer forgets to place an order, they will order a backup order and just charge it to the customers credit card.

Maybe they think that if they keep saying they never got any letters they can keep charging backup orders to my credit card. But if you sign up for something online, dont you think you should be able to cancel online also? Beware!

Receiving a back up order

Hi, I have been a customer of Melaleuca for almost a year. It has truly changed our lives and saved us time and money. But I won't go into that here, because if you are interested in improving your health, saving time and money, then you would have already seen the value. What I would like to address is the Back up order. First of all, the back up order is explained whether you hear a presentation in person, via web cast of on the phone. Second of all it is clearly explained on the online enrollment as well as the paper enrollment. When a person electronically or manually signs, they are signing under a statement that says they have read, understand and agree to teh terms of the membership. So I don't understand???Are people signing without reading? Or signing without asking for clarification? So if you forget to place your order, which I don't know how anyone would. I personally cannot run my household without deodorant, laundry soap, dishsoap, cleaning products, hair care, makeup, vitamins, hand soap, lotion, toothpaste etc.....then Melaleuca will ship out the backup order that you agreed to receive, there are several to choose from, when you signed your agreement. And yes, they charge your credit card, because you also agreed to that when you signed the agreement. But let me ask you this. What happens when your cell or wireless phone company charges you for your monthly service? When I had a cell phone, 200 minutes was not enough and the next "level" was 600 minutes. I never used more than 300 minutes, but I was always charged for 600. What happens when you go on vacation for a week and you have no garbage on the curb....don't you still get billed for a full month? With Melaleuca, you actually receive products for you money. When someone says they don't use these products, I am very surprised. I thought everyone did laundry, cleaned their houses, brushed their teeth and washed their hair?! I am sorry you had a bad experience but my son as been Asthma attack free for 10 months after 15 year of suffering since we converted our home. Except once when he went into the bathroom at Menard's right after the janitor had cleaned, which resulted in a $750 ambulance ride and and $400 hospital bill and 3 days of missed work. My son with Autism immediately began making eye contact. Soon he began speaking and developing social skills. But when exposed to Cascade at Grandpa's house...the dishwasher was running he fell to the ground thrashing and did not make eye contact for almost 24 hours. Same thing happened at the grocery store meat counter. They were cleaning with bleach.

Bad Business and Unsafe Products & they do charge your credit card if you "forget" to place an order regardless.

the President of the company had a rebuttal, that simply states a "no fault" in the matter of the cancelation of accounts by either of the person's who have had something to say about their credit card continuing to be charged. No matter what anyone says who supports this company, the bottom line is that they do charge your credit card if you "forget" to place an order regardless. Obviously, it is more convient for the company to "forget" about canceling a customers account and continue to make money off of that account. Also, anyone involved in, or looking to involve themselvs in this company, should know that Melaleuca itself as a ingreediant is not as safe as they claim it to be. Just by doing some simple research online, I have found out that more than this company alone is involved in the sale of the Melaleuca ingreediant. As well as some imformation that backs up my claim that Melaleuca is not as safe as it seems. I suggest that anyone who wants to know more about this product, and all the facts, including the fact that it is not as safe as it seems, visit the National Library Of Medicine online.

I am a customer and buisiness builder of Melaleuca. I have had enrollees that have cancelled and had no problem with it. If you send your information to the proper address, they have no problems cancelling your membership. Yes, you do have to order the products, but if you are not using the products how credible are you going to be when you introduce and enroll people to the company.
