First of all I am a Certified Respiratory Therapist of 14 years, my wife is a Laboratory Technologist for approx. 25 years. We are VERY aware were Methothilioma Cancer comes from and how to read slides and such. Next there is a HISTORY WITH VON AJAYE SHEPHERDS AND MELLISSA.( please read the numorus complaints against her,doxhund.com and von ajaye shepherds) very numorus too much for me to type but I've read them ALL !! She has a significant history of keeping her kennel filthy dirty,Remodeling etc. the amount of scams she has pullled on people, the amount of dogs that have DIED from Ca. and heart attacks are very numorus. There is NO exposure to Asbestos (primary in methothieoma), we DO NOT spray our lawns, NO shipyards or Mines around. What we DO have is MITRAL VALVE REGURATATION ( valve either not closing all the way,not closing fast enough or just a weak valve, ALL have to do with heredity. Then we have the 250ml's of fluid that was taken from between his heart and the pericardium( sac around the heart itself) when that fills to its' limit and the sac cannot fill anymore ,it stops the heart,by resticting its' beating and afecting its' conductivity, no blood gets pumped to the rest of the body. Mellisa has sent and sold many GSD's to unsuspecting owners who paid show dog prices as we did, $2,000 sight unseen, via picture only with a green ribbon. It's not the money, I swear, he's my buddy, goes EVERYWHERE with me. Melissa doesn't stand behind the contract she had signed, I would never have returned him anyway. If your an HONEST BREEDER you strive to breed the best GSD you can,and if YOU KNOW THERE IS A BAD TRAIT IN YOU LINE.......YOU DON'T PASS IT ON!! You do as other breeders do fix the GSD so he /she cannot pass it on. Be responsible.Mellissa has had so many problems with her GSD's that She MUST know about the issue, she's changed her phone # and adress many, many times, she's a rippoff ,no way around it. thank you, Gonnageteven

No one in our house has ever worked near any asbestos. This is how you get mestholeoma. We are devistated about erich . He is our life!!!!!!!!! He is so friendly with people and other animals!! So if he truley has this terrible disease the only link would be Mellisa Kolbe. After reading all the other horror stories from other people who have purchase GSD from her, I also will find her!!. Erich has been well taken care of and he is loved very much. He has never been in or around any enviroment that would expose him to asbestos. And it's documented that 99% chance this is where you would get mesotheleoma from. We do have another dog Jena and she is just fine. She has recently been checked out and is in good health. Right now, Erich is doing great after going through a pretty big crisis. He was in congestive hear failure from the pericardial effusion and they also found primary mitral valve disease via echocardiagram. Our hopes are that is ia a mis diagnosis and maybe this was an idiopathic episode. Time will tell!! If any one has any info on his littermates, Please forward info!! He was from the "E" litter. Sire Lasko Vom Kirschen-Dorf. Dam Monica Vom Winnloh. I would be interested in location of his siblings to find out the health of those dogs.

If your dog is 6, and was just diagnosed, how can it be linked unequivocally to the breeder? I am very sorry for you, and for Erich, but how is this the breeder's fault? This is not one of the things I am very familiar with, and so I did some research. Findings are pretty uniform. Seems to be most common in male Bouvier, Irish Setter, and GSD's (though of course is not limited to these breeds). Also is generally linked to the owner's lifestyle and/or occupation. What do the people in the home do for a living? Has there been exposure to older houses or remodeling or like enviroments, to ANY of you? You don't sound like the type to let your dog roam, but has he, or does he travel around with you? How about any pesticide powders? Any asbestos mine or a shipyard or anything near you? They get it from the enviroment. I simply typed Mesothelioma Cancer In Dogs into a search engine, and went through several pages. It sounds like it would be wise to have the household proactively checked out (even Jenna if you can), as asbestos exposure is quite often found in the owner's of the dogs whom have contracted this cancer. Can you say why you believe it is the breeder's fault specifically? Everything else seems to say otherwise. Wishing you guys and Erich, and Jenna the best. *just my opinions*
